Breastmilk for Daycare

Can you fill up however many bottles that theu would normally have then they can fridge them ?

@Devon yes I think you're right. Just hard to know how much that will be because we've exclusively breastfed and I have no idea how many ounces he eats in a day

Not to sure on that one. How old will they be ? You could try get a comparison or do a feed and weigh them before and after then see if the difference gives you any clue ?

I start with 4 oz per bottle.
I bottle the milk today for tomorrow, (since refrigerated fresh breastmilk can last 4 days in the fridge, as compared to thawed bm which only lasts 24 hours) that way you’re not wasting too much milk! You can send them the untouched bottles again the next day, just make sure to mark them “use first”.
I used to thaw all the time, and my EBF baby literally did not take any of them on her first week at daycare.

We always sent in refrigerated milk that I pumped at work the day before in the milk storage bags. We gave them some frozen milk to keep in the freezer as back up if needed but it rarely was and they mainly used the fresh milk.. (our nursery requested we supply in bags rather than bottles so best to check with your provider if they have a preference).
I think we sent in 3xc.3oz initially and gradually reduced to 2x (she was 11 months when she started).

We took whatever mom brought most of ours would send frozen and we would just split it between bottles in the morning. I’d just ask how they’d prefer you bring it.

It will really depend on your daycares policy. Ours requires us to have filled up bottles (milk or formula) ready in a cooler. They wouldn’t mix it but in know some places do it differently. I’d ask
