Hello everyone! I am actually really torn here and don’t know what to try with my son. He’s 10 months old and he HATES sitting still. Anytime I put him in the high chair to eat, he gets irritated and cries. He just started daycare, and even with them putting him in a chair to eat, he cries, and doesn’t even get to try the food there. When I would be giving him purées, or any food o would give it to him while he’s standing or roaming around. Which I know isn’t the best idea. But as a tired pregnant AGAIN mom, I just gave into that. My concern is that he will be 12 months at the end of next month. He is nowhere near close to weaning off of milk. So I am very very concerned. Please if anyone has suggestions on how to have a baby like sitting in the high chair and not dread meal time, PLEASE help.

Hi! Have you tried those toys that can suction on? There are baby fidget spinner looking things that my boy loves! https://a.co/d/8rMNycJ
I have not! Do they help with meal time? Or how do they help.

They increased his interest in the high chair in general. Seemed like once he got interested, he was more likely to reach for the food placed in front of him. ♥️

How well does he fit in his chair? Does he have a foot plate? What happens before meals? Are you able to play with him or have him interact with toys that get him moving? Is he more interested in eating off your plate if he sits on your lap?

Is he actively interested in eating?
he is not lol. Not really. Here and there yes. I try not to force him of course. I know that’s never good. But I try to encourage him

So what does mealtime look like? Are you both sitting down together eating the same foods? That can really help encourage him to get more interested in food (even if he just plays with it). Offer milk between or after meals, rather than before or with meals to ensure he shows up at the table hungry
