I’m 37 weeks pregnant and bd & I haven’t been together since 5 months pregnant and barely talked. We didn’t do a baby shower together as my friend and family planned it just for me. Last week he asked if he could stop by today (Sunday) to drop off some registry items I had left over and I said that was fine. This morning he texted saying the stroller/car seat was delayed in shipping and will come Wednesday and if it was still ok for him to come by to drop off the other items which I also said ok to. I asked what time he’d come by & he said he’d let me know. An hour later he said he changed his mind and it’d be best for him to come Wednesday with everything including the stroller/car seat. I explained how I wanted the other items today so I can finish up organizing as I could give birth anytime now leading up to my due date and the response I got from him was “I don’t understand why you want to organize so bad nothing I have is urgent except the stroller/car seat which I’ll drop off Wednesday have a good day”
It’s so hard to have a conversation with him because he doesn’t understand what getting prepared as a mother is, let alone a parent.

Realistically it does make more sense to drop everything together on the Wednesday, that being said he needs to understand that you’re preparing to be a single mother and these things are stressful - having to wait for items etc. In this case it just sounds like he’s being thoughtless, especially as you’ve expressed why you would like them sooner. It’s a hard situation to navigate x
I agree it does make sense to drop everything all together on Wednesday. My thing is, he already asked if I wanted the items he’s already bought to be dropped off today which we agreed on then he changed his mind twice. It’s the principle of it all really. He is thoughtless & doesn’t understand the concept of preparing for a child especially when you’re a first time parent. He has a pattern of saying something then changing his mind for it to benefit him. Unfortunately because of this, I’ve been looking into parallel parenting

Yeah in all honesty he’s just being thoughtless towards what you may be going through emotionally right now and even though it does make sense to drop them all together, for the sake of easing your stresses he could have just dropped the other bits today. Wishing you all the best, I was a single mother for many years and whilst it may be hard at times - the bond you have with your baby is like no other. My son is my entire world and I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s better to have a baby in a house filled with love rather than any toxicity. It’s so much more freeing to have your own house, your baby and your own rules. Living life exactly as you say it goes, You have got this ❤️
this gave me hope. Thank you for the kind words ❤️ everything will work out in time, I know it

Honestly it will all be okay. I genuinely find Being a single mum is so much easier than having to deal with a man you cannot communicate with or feel supported by. Just you and your beautiful baby, lots of blessings coming your way. Sending you love x
do you mind if we talk about being a single mom? I’ve been doing my research on child support etc but it’d be nice to talk to someone who has experience

No problem, inbox is open! I’m just about to try and sleep (damn this pregnancy bladder keeping me up) but will reply in the morning xxx
