I’m now a SAHM and having a hard time accepting it. Me and my partner had everything planned out and I was going to part time, had it all worked out with my job. We had to make a plan because he’s paternity leave was ending..
I got laid off Aug 6th and I can’t get with it. I’ve worked since I was 16, I’m 25 and don’t know how to accept that I’m not working and me and him have come to the conclusion that’ll be better if I don’t work..
what could help me come to terms with it? How do I stop apologizing for every little thing?
Is it dumb to feel bad everytime he talks about saving up for something we could’ve bought without breaking a sweat last month?
Our daughter is 6mo and I could only work part time which those funds would only cover daycare and we don’t want to do daycare. Which is why we said it’s better for me not to work..
Give it to me straight!!

I totally get you! Working is all I’ve known before having a baby & to stop working has been a huge adjustment.
I definitely miss some aspects of work, but I’m also reminded that there will always be work later on. This season when our babies our small will go by so fast ❤️
In other words, money can always be made, but we can’t necessarily make “more time” with our little ones 🫶🏼
This season has taught me to slow down & do less!
If you do wanna work though, have you looked into remote work?
I have but haven’t dug too deep into it. My partner works over nights and 4-6 days a week. So I try my best to make his life as easy as possible.
I’m loving the time with my little girl, just hate the load added to my partners life..

If it’s an option in your area, you can look into instacart, or DoorDash. when dad is home from work, or when you have which would bring in some money so you don’t feel so bad. I also use it as my guilt free alone time, it allows you to work on your own schedule. I only do it maybe 2-3 times a month, but you can do it as often or as little as you’d like!

What said. We planned for me not to work. I honestly love it, after working full-time since 16 to 30yrs old. I’ve been a in retail, a waitress, mechanic, service advisor, company accountant, management. I was always at something fast paced. I do wish I had better motivation at home. Home was always my relax place and my brain like refuses to be motivated to clean when I need to but still. If it was a mutually made decision, you cant dwell on it or feel bad forever. You can always go back once they’re in school, or remote/hybird work.
