VBAC, worth the risk?

First born ended up an emergency c-section. We have the option to do VBAC but I'm a little unsure. OB told us there's a 1 in 100 chance of uterine rupture trying to do VBAC. Idk, maybe just me, but that numbers a bit low to trust, lol
Is the possibility of a uterine rupture as big after 8 years? Does time change that risk at all? Probably stuff I should have asked the OB. Husband and I had talked and didn't like that risk, but the more I think about it, the only thing that makes me not want the csection is that it limits how many kids we can have to 3... now idk that im sure wed go over 3, if we get the 3rd. At least 1 more is whats in my head... just dont like that it takes the possibility away?
I've thought about natural just to have that experience, but at the same time, I'm okay doing csection again.

Thoughts? Experiences of your own?

Not personal experience for me but my sister in law had 2 c section babies and then her VBAC and said she had a great experience. Her first two were less than 2 years apart but her third child was almost 4 years after that second section. It helps if your doctor is supportive of the idea to begin with and they wanted her to have the opportunity so she took it. But another good friend of mine has 5 children and all were c sections so it can be possible to have more but I think it depends individually how your body does with it.

I had a vbac with my second ( 1 and 2 are 19 months apart) and plan to do it vaginally with my third as well.

My doctor was very in support of a vbac. He told me the risks, but didn't seem too worried about it.

My first was also an emergency C-section. The cord was wrapped around his neck twice. My second was unmedicated vbac. Tore just a little. I think it depends on the reason for the C-section, but I'd say it's worth it.

I had a c section with my first and a VBAC 2 years 8months later, no complications. I'm 32 weeks +5 now with my third and we are doing a home birth. Midwife said since my VBAC was successful my risks are lower this time around.

I had a VBAC with my second and I was worried about the risks and also didn’t want any induction bc I had heard it increases the risk a bit. I did everything I could do induce labor and I finally did go naturally at 40.5 weeks but honestly I drove myself crazy. Now with the 3rd, I’m not gonna be as neurotic. If I go into labor, great. If i have to do a C section, ok that’s fine.
Mine was 4 years after the C section.
I would say if you have any thoughts of having a fourth kid… try for VbAC. And remember it is *trying* for VBAC. There’s still a chance you’ll have to do a C section if complications arise or if you go past 41 weeks. My advice is to be happy with whatever happens 😊 you’ll still have your baby at the end of it

Oh and btw I’m so happy I got to experience a natural birth. It was painful and honestly pretty horrible lol… but what an experience. I’m glad I got to know what it was like and see my baby come out.
The other factor is that if you had an emergency C section which I did also, you were probably knocked out so you didn’t see your baby for a while. If you do an elective C section you’ll be awake and still see your baby in the first few moments of their life so that’s pretty cool.

Well at least he got to be present for that. I wonder why they didn't try to flip the baby by hand. My doctor did that because mine flipped during labor as well.

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
