Tomorrow I have my 20-weeks anatomy scan which will confirm the gender, and I was wondering if the NIPT can get it wrong.
I just hope the gender we were told almost 10 weeks ago will just be confirmed..

I have a friend who had an incorrect gender result from an NIPT but that’s the only instance I’ve heard of that happening

The Dr told me that if you do NIPT too early it may not detect male and you will get female result. Unsure if there are any other factors that could cause it to be different.

It’s 99% accurate as long as it’s done after 10 weeks. So it can (and is) wrong sometimes, but not often.
