I’m hoping to go before my due date but if I don’t I’ll be induced on my due date 8th Nov and all I keep seeing is horror stories on induction or just labour in general and it has me quite anxious :(

I am also likely to be induced, so I hear you! Bear in mind that people are much more likely to share their stories if they are dramatic or traumatic, but the reality is that plenty of people have straightforward labours even with induction. The fact that you are looking at being induced at 40 weeks is a big advantage, too, as your body is more likely to be ready for it. :)

I recommend doing a hypo birthing class. Knowledge is power when it comes to all the different types of inductions. Knowing what your body is doing helps also

Personally, if I end up at the point where they absolutely want to induce me, I will be opting for a c section. So remember that option is there too xx

I had a great induction with my first! It was definitely long (about 12 hrs to get to 4cm then 12hrs in active labour) but overall a great experience and very straightforward.
Take snacks and some things to do, my partner and I took a pack of cards which kept us entertained for a while. Please don’t let the horror stories scare you!

i had an induction with my first, really positive experience.
it was the balloon catheter, it was in overnight and i was able to go
home and come back at 8am, my waters were broken about 10.30/11 and my son was born at 4am.
i did need an assisted birth but i had a 10lb baby😅 and i was struggling with his shoulders.
i'm booked in for induction again in just under 3 weeks as i'm due another big baby, im feeling positive about it all. i'd rather avoid a c section, with having a toddler but what happens happens x

I don’t know if this will be reassuring or not but I was induced with my first little girl at 38 weeks and it’s honestly not as bad as people make it out to be! I found it quite a relaxing experience and once my waters were broken it was a very quick experience. From memory my waters broke around 5.30/6.30am and baby arrived by 9.30am 🙂

I was induced with my first and in the moment it felt very long but it wasn’t as bad as everyone had told me. I think it’s important to try and relax as the more you relax the better it will be overall xx

I was induced at 40 weeks with my second. Waters were broken for me and he was out 3 hours later, no pain relief or medical intervention. He’s now a healthy 19 month old. I won’t lie and say it didn’t hurt because it did but it was no more painful than my first who came naturally. The horror stories are always spoken about more 🩷 I definitely recommend doing some breathing exercises to try and calm yourself before and during labour x

On the positive birth company website blog they have a number of birth stories which are helpful to read 😊
