How the hell are people coping with 2 kids.

I have a 2 and a half year old with a nearly 4 weeks old. My toddler has become a pain in the ass. I just had a fight with her to nap and she ended up crying and falling asleep. All while the newborn is crying in her cot. All morning she's been a pain too, throwing tantrums because she can't wake up and have a bag of crisps first thing in the morning. I feel guilty because I have to have the TV on more than I like to keep her happy. I tried to get some good play time before her nap after we were all dressed. But the baby was fussy so ended up watching TV instead. Everyone is all sleep now but I feel like I can't handle anything when they are both awake.

I feel you.

My toddler is 3 next month and I feel like my patience keeps running thin with him. I don’t like blaming the baby for me being busy either, I.e if I’m breastfeeding and say I can’t play right now cause brother is having milk, but I also don’t know how to explain it to him in a way he’ll understand. He always says put baby down and play but it isn’t that easy.

I’ve only managed taking both of them for walks as I’m not sure how I’ll ever go to playgroups with the both of them just yet, feels so daunting.

Just remind yourself that this season will pass and they’ll soon have each other to entertain and it’ll hopefully get easier!

We’re in the same boat, toddler is being very hard work, she’s pushing us so hard. Think it’s completely normal unfortunately. It’ll get better ☺️

Same here! 2.5 year old having emotional moments whilst I'm breastfeeding and can't move! Going to attempt a playgroup with my 4 week old in a sling next week!

Same here have a 21 month old and a 6 week old it’s been so hard I spend most days crying of how hard my toddler seems to be now every little thing seems a challenge with her. I feel guilty for not been able to have much one and one time with her now but I keep telling myself it will get better x

I’ve either been sending my three year old to my mums or preschool on the days I’m
Home alone!

Same boat 🥴, I have a soon 5 week old and 2.5 year old and it’s tough most days but nursery will soon help me to give me that breather ! She seeks attention quite a lot but doesn’t tend to always listen either and starts hitting or throwing stuff. The more I tell her off I find it sets her off more sometimes but do find it hard to ignore. It’ll get better for us all though and is just a phase I believe. I don’t mind giving her attention of course but sometimes trying to deal with the baby and her at the same time is impossible! It’s just finding a balance that works well for you as well. I’ve had my days most days where I feel like I’ve just exploded aha and have had to take 5! Do find though that even going the shops calms her behaviour down as it’s still getting out doing something or even a drive in the car and have been to three groups so far with her tagging along with me and baby and she’s been gentle around the other babies too and has enjoyed helping

Same here! We have a massive potty regression and lots of bad tantrums. She’s also misbehaving in nursery. It feels like I try to put out a fire, just so 2 new one’s emerge.😮‍💨 It is so tough, I hope it will get better soon.🙁

Surviving not thriving over here! I’ve sent the toddler into nursery more as I feel bad just putting the tv on. Feel si guilty for it though

Same here ladies. 5 week old and 2.5 year old and my daughter jas stopped napping. Throwing things and even hitting. She is so lovely to baby but taking it out on me. Xx

With great struggle. My son does 3 days at nursery and I get extreme mum guilt for it BUT it’s survival mode right now. I know he has a great time, I just wish I could be the one giving him all my time. When I have both at home, I find myself with baby in arms, trying to read books to the toddler/play 1:1 etc. My back usually gives way at some point from all the swaying and the TV gets turn on. Far from ideal but we do what we need to do right now.

No idea but here for solidarity 🫠

I have a 4-year-old Autistic son and bless him it's been a hard few weeks for us all. We try our best to give him attention and one of us has the baby but the baby has reflux, tongue tie and club feet and crys a lot so it's not an easy ride. Our first born is also in school so I am doing the school runs. He masks all day at school and acts up at home. I am one exhausted mumma lol.

Getting out of the house is what keeps me sane - we still go to toddler gymnastics with my 9 week old in a sling, I take them out in the buggy for a walk to the park, toddler can run around. Trying to keep her active so she burns energy and has less to challenge me with. Also at these things my baby tends to sleep in her carrier or the pram so feels like I’m giving my big one more 1-1 attention which definitely helps too.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
