Hello, what time are we putting our 12 week olds to bed? Me and my husband are terrible night owls, we go to bed around 11-11:30pm. We have unfortunately dragged our baby into this routine as well, but she seems to be struggling with it a bit lately, she will enter really deep sleeps at around 7-9pm and then we are having to wake her because we are ready for bed soon and want her to be awake for a while before bed. She sometimes sleeps through the night, but has lately been waking at around 6am, and then being really difficult to get back to sleep. She used to wake around 4-5am, have her bum chnage and bottle and knock right out again, but lately it's been a lot of whining and faffing. I'm not sure if she is trying to tell us that she wants an earlier bedtime and an earlier wake up rather then going to sleep at like 11:30pm and waking up at 9-10am 👀 I also have no idea how to move her bedtime earlier though, when we have attempted in the past, she just wakes after an hour screaming 😭 help a mumma out please, any tips or tricks? 😭

Our little girl is 11 weeks today, she goes in her crib upstairs from around 8:30-9:30 after her feed and doesn’t wake up until her next feed at 2/3 and then again feed and she sleeps till 7/8am, and she tells us she’s ready for bed she will not settle unless we put her upstairs but she kinda did this routine herself
As she has a deep sleep herself can this not be her bedtime? And see how she goes? Xx

Are we supposed to be putting them to bed? I just go when my 10 week old gets tired. Which is never. This is why I am sleep deprived. Sometimes he even puts me to bed as I wake up with him wide awake.
Don’t mean to wish my babies life away. But roll on 6 months. I’m hating the night time seasons. My baby will definitely enjoy clubbing when he is an adult.

We aim to go up with 11 week old around 9pm, sometimes he'll already be sleeping or sometimes he'll be awake. He'll usually then sleep until around 2-3am, then again at 5-6am, then will want out of cot at 8am but sleep a little more on me until about 9am.
We've aimed for 9pm since he came home from hospital, so sorry not sure how you go about trying to move it earlier. But you say she's in a deep sleep around 7-9pm? I would just put her in her cot then and not wake her. X

For us it was about persevering with a routine, now her body clock has started to adapt - we have signifiers that tell her it’s bed time - we do bath, sleep sack, milk & have an orange light and only use the next to me at night. We missed bath time not realising the time one day and she screamed the house down. We still go to bed later but just move whatever we’re doing to the bedroom where she sleeps e.g. watching shows on a laptop rather than the living room telly

We found our little one was doing similar and we were waking him when we took him upstairs. He now goes down in his crib between 8/8:30 wakes around 2 or 3 for a feed and his back down till about 7ish x

11wk old. We head up to bed at 7:30 have a chill before 6yr old comes up at 8. 6yr old falls asleep around 8:40/9 ish and then baby falls asleep between 9 and 10. We don’t do anything special I like a good sleep so I’ve almost always fall asleep as soon as both kids are asleep x

I put my 9 week old to bed anywhere between 7.30-8.00 (once my toddler is down for the night (if he's in bed early so is she) After about 6pm she starts getting cranky and will not settle until she is in her crib so she basically told us herself what her bedtime was. Gives us a wee break (time to tidy the house) before we go to bed too

We were stuck like this too until this week, we started trying to put her down earlier as she was so so fussy in the evening. She gets a feed at 8pm usually so tried to put her down about 8.30/8.45 but what has become apparent the last four nights is she has chosen her own very specific bedtime of between 9.23 & 9.27pm 😂 and that’s a 2.5 hour wake window before as we always wake her up for bath with her big sister at 7pm. No matter what time we’ve started trying she’s falling asleep at the exact same time every night.
