4 month sleep regression

What does it look like for you?

My little girl, who is 4 months today has started the regression since last night.

She’s always been a great at going to sleep and we do the bath bottle bed routine. She is usually placed down and will settle herself to sleep after a bottle and a cuddle with no screams.

Since yesterday she screams when we place her in her crib drowsy so we give her reassurance in lots of different ways and sometimes it results to us picking her up. As soon as she’s placed down again, drowsy or fully asleep after a minuite or two she wakes screaming. We continue this till she eventually stays asleep - this can take an hour or two.

I know we have to just ride it out but I’m curious as to how your sleep regression looks/looked and how long it lasted. Did you change anything to help?

We are 5 weeks into ours and still fully in it 🫠🫠 she wakes every 2 hours wailing or wanting a feed - longing for a good nights sleep!

I’ve just finished a 2 hour battle with my 4 month old (turned 4 months 2 days ago) usually I BF to sleep and transfer to next to me. Everytime tonight he’s screamed. After 2 hours I fed him laying down on our bed and now I’m too scared to move him 😂 would love to hear any tips, we’ve never been able to get him to self soothe though x

Nighttime sleep hasn’t been massively hit (yet, just turned 4 months), she just wakes for her night feed a bit earlier than she used to. But naps she absolutely screams before we get her down. She will scream the house down for 5 mins or so as she’s falling asleep whilst I rock her. She was starting to self settle/I would pat her bum and she’d go off without rocking but she refuses now, so I think our naps have been mostly effected

She went from sleeping 7- 7 to waking up once or twice in the night for feeding and a few other times which are more of a 'grizzle' and she needs comforting back to sleep.

Went from sleeping 6-8 hours a night to waking every hour and screaming the place down (eyes still closed- maybe because he doesn’t actually want to be awake?). We’ve had 2 months of this (started around 3 months and one week). Last night was just awful, waking every 30 mins until 5am but he was gassy and he’s got the tip of a tooth coming through too. Little guy (and me) don’t get a break ha

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
