I made an appointment with a lactation specialist to figure out how to bring my milk supply up and get my baby to latch only to be lectured that the lactation specialist won’t be able to help me by my mother in law…. When that’s what they do help you get your milk supply up and get baby relatching from the breast again…. I’m so beyond frustrated… I was made to feel like my decision to see a professional so I don’t loose my milk all together was a wrong decision… Scientifically breast milk is best. So I want my baby to have my Breast milk. But baby decided a few weeks ago to stop latching and only want a bottle… so I’ve been formula supplementing but today I called a professional for their opinion they said do you want to stop trying to breast feeding and just do pumping and formula or continue feeding and I said I really want to try have my baby breastfeeding and they told me is very important to come in tomorrow 12 noon and bring my baby in hungry so I can breast feed and they can help pinpoint the exact problem and figure out exactly why my milk supply dropped and fix it so it will increase again. Then mother in law went on for over 30 minutes saying they can’t help me and won’t be of help and it’s pointless to go…. When I tried explaining their job they just went on about how in the 80s they had no help, had to figure it out on their own so I should figure it out on my own with no help and that they lost all their milk when baby was 2 month. I tried explaining it’s not normal to loose all your milk by 2 months because the baby doctor and midwife told me it’s not normal and to go see the lactation specialist and they got upset by that and told me again they can’t be of help and I need to figure it out on my own like they did I tried talking to my husband about but after listening to me argue with his mom about seeing the lactation specialist he’s drained of the topic and doesn’t want to hear it he justwant to relax. Which I understand but it really upset me and made me doubt that I’m making the right decision… he doesn’t seem to care much about how upset I am and normally when I say his mom upsets me he gives her shit for it and defends me.. I feel like no one understands.. plus his mom always goes on about when she raised him alone no doctor s or parenting books and tells me I need to stop reading parenting books nd realing on doctors for help all the time when I don’t know something and learn to think for myself and do it alone like she did…. what would you do in my situation? also am i making the right decision by seeing the lactation specialist???
ps before you say STOP telling her stuff.. I don’t tell her anything my husband keeps doing it he told her about the appointment tomorrow

Just because she suffered alone doesn’t mean you have to. If you want to breastfeed then go to the lactation consultant and get the guidance you need.
Tell her that, times have changed and medicine and medical practices have gotten better. Fed baby is the best, you choose whatever route you want. Your MIL had her time with her kids, now you get to raise your kid.
Mine avoids it and makes all kinds of excuses but he will change our son's.

Baby is 4.5 months old and our naps have always been terrible, the max she has ever napped for is 1.5 hours, but the last month her day naps have all looked like this. She won't be resettled when she wakes up and can't seem to drift off on her own....any tips on getting her to self soothe? We can't seem to soothe her in her cot at all, she just screams, or falls asleep for one minute then wakes up upset! She won't keep a dummy in either.
Some bedtimes are also taking up to six hours because of this, but if I try to reset by taking her downstairs, we start bedtime again and it could take hours again!
She also won't fall asleep in the car or buggy, only on me and occasionally being rocked with a dummy by only me or my partner😅

My baby is constantly and aggressively coming off the breast even though I know she is probably hungry, everyone keeps saying she is more alert and distracted, makes absolutely no difference to be in a dark room, she also now only feeds for about 4 minutes on average per feed, so it feels like cluster feeding but also she must be frustrated, it’s just relentless. Some days she can cry for two hours, more wake ups in the night and can be awake for two hours or so at any time in the night, no pattern to it. Feeling soo drained by it all.

Hi ladies, there has been a lot of arguments at home with my husband, it’s almost every 2nd or 3rd day due to some issue or the other with the main issue being how irresponsible and timid he is in every situation we are in, be it family, work, issues with our house etc. it’s come to a point that after years of being the person who handles all issues, I am so burnt out and stressed and this has caused pretty intense fights at home, more me yelling and him promising things in vain and nothing changes.
My biggest concern is how is this impacting our baby. Does constant fights, anxiety and stress harm the baby?
