Has anyone done this? We started 4 days ago and I'm not expecting to see results straight away but I'm not even sure it's the right thing for my LO. He cries as soon as I put him down on his cot, so I pick him up and he continues to cry until he falls asleep in my arms. I put him down as soon as he stops crying again, but it wakes him up and starts crying again, and we're stuck in this loop. Feel like I'm trying to to sleep train when he's already asleep and it's just making both of us miserable. Willing to keep trying as I know consistency is key, but wondering if anyone had the same problem and can tell me if it actually works?
We're following the wake windows recommendations and watching for sleep cues, so I don't think he's overtired.

We tried it, but I felt like it was confusing her. We then did cribside comfort (if you're on TikTok, I followed a sleep consultant named Kendra who showed some techniques). So she stayed in her cot whilst I comforted her unless she was wailing x

Like Elle I found the pick up put down confusing for my baby too - what works for one family may not work for another! We found sleepwellwithhannah on Instagram and have followed some of her tips. I actually found that sometimes being there and patting/shhh’ing my baby to sleep made her cry so much worse, more of a frustrated and angry cry than upset/tired, and when I did less it was a lot less stressful for the both of us! We are now at the point where we put her down in the cot awake, and I leave her to it for a bit and then go in when she’s starting to get tired and hold my hand on her bum and she’ll go to sleep! Definitely takes some perseverance and consistency, I hope you find something that clicks for you soon! X

I made shushing a big part of going to sleep, then did put down drowsy, shush and light hand in cot, if fussing got a lot then pick up until relaxed, rinse and repeat.
It worked for us but did take a lot of patience

My LO is exactly the same! We are even struggling with naps atm! Even with this method he just continues to get himself so worked up that he ends up being sick. Hope it gets better for you soon! X
