Hi, I'm needing a little advice my partner is looking at moving into my house that I own. I have 2 girls (3,8months) 1 is his and 1 from a previous relationship my thing is he has a son that's 8 that he only gets once or twice a month if he's lucky no matter what we have tried but now he's moving in I don't see how it's going to work I don't want either of my girls to have to give up their room for him to only be there once a month if that and I don't want him to not have a space that's his when he is here. The plan is an attic conversion for us in the future but right now isn't in the budget so I'm wondering is anyone else has had a similar situation they can give advice on. I wouldn't mind the girls sharing if he was here every week my partner suggested the couch but I refuse to have a child of ours sleep on a couch instead of a bed in what's supposed to be their home.

I agree with you. Making sure they have their own space so they feel welcome and part of the family is soooo important.
I don’t know what your other available spaces look like currently, but if you have a room like a study or office that can be updated somewhat to incorporate a Murphy bed, that would be a great solution for both short and long term.
It can offer a bookcase and potentially desk when it’s being used as an office, and when he’s there, you pull the bed down from the wall and that becomes his bedroom.
At other times, it can even serve as a guestroom. For about $2-3K, it’s a transformational investment that solves this issue, makes the space versatile, and adds to your resale value.
