Warwick hospital

Anyone who’s had a birth at Warwick hospital whether that’s on bluebell or the labour ward. What was your experience? My first birth wasn’t ideal and looking back really wasn’t happy with the midwife I had during the birth. Just curious to see what others have experienced?

I was on labour 16 years ago and opted for Coventry this time round because of my experience.. so doesn’t sound like much has improved. I wasn’t listened to at all.

I gave birth at Warwick, labour ward (16 weeks ago). Happy to answer any questions if you want to dm me!
Midwives were mixed but mostly nice. Wasn’t happy with the first anaesthetist I had though 😅 but shift changed and the second one was nicer.

Gave birth on swan ward in the beginning of December and can't fault anything. I was nervous as I wanted to give birth in bluebell but was unable to due to having to be induced but they were fantastic 😊

I had my little girl there in July 2024, induced on the Monday, emergency C-section on the Thursday. All but one midwife were amazing, unfortunately they were short staffed (where isn’t) but they tried their best and genuinely cared about me and baby. We were in a while as baby went to SCBU but the midwives were rooting for us with every test result as to whether we could go home or not. I’ll always remember the midwife who came running in so excitedly to tell me we could go home. Even the consultant was excited for us. Did make complaint to PALS about one midwife in particular but other midwives supported me in that choice. SCBU nurses were also amazing and very accommodating! When we have a second we will be going back to Warwick for an elected c section x

I had a fantastic birth at Warwick in Bluebell with follow up recovery in Swan ward (2 years ago now), but like you, I didn't like one of the midwives I had.
She said something unhelpfully stupid just as I'd started pushing and I really lost confidence. It kept playing on my mind for days after birth.
It bothered me enough, I didn't want to let it slide, so I mentioned it to multiple midwives and whenever anyone asked for feedback and they took it seriously. The most helpful person I found was my community midwife, I got in touch with her and she said she would follow it up for me.

All I wanted was for someone to avoid experiencing the same thing. So please feel empowered to contact the midwife team about it. In my experience, it was taken seriously.

I gave birth at Warwick in November 2023 and they were fantastic. I'd wanted to go to Bluebell as I'm scared of hospitals but they were full. My birth experience was really positive and the care we received could not be faulted x

I gave birth in the birth suite. The first midwife I had didn’t speak to me at all and she was not very helpful. But then at handover I had 2 INCREDIBLE nurses. One who even stayed past her shift to stay with me. They made the whole experience for me and I couldn’t have asked for a better birth. I don’t even think about the first nurse. I would go there again simply for how comfortable and supported I felt with those two ladies x

Thank you all for your feedback! I actually have a birth talk booked in soon to discuss my previous. I am just hoping I don’t get this one particular midwife who I felt really bullied me and didn’t listen during my last birth. After doctor intervention my baby girl was born and here so quickly. And I couldn’t fault the rest of the team!

I gave birth in warwick June 2023 and December 2025.
Both amazing experiences- midwife’s read my badger app thoroughly and made sure they chatted through my options.
Both were vaginal births and midwife’s were absolutely incredible and supportive.

I gave birth at the bluebell in April 2025 and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Especially being a first time mom

I had both my babies at Warwick. My experience the 1st time wasn’t very good but for the 2nd one it was a very different experience. Both babies were c-sections (1st was elective,2nd was emergency) and I was treated differently for both. Had some lovely midwives for my most recent, and felt more looked after and supported with feeding as we were struggling.

Had my baby there back in February 2025 - the actual c section team were amazing, however the care after and the care before were horrendous. Currently due another baby in June and i’m thinking of switching my care to Coventry because the care at warwick hospital is just absolutely appalling. I’ve made several complaints too and they’re still the same.

I had my elective c-section back in June. The team were fantastic, the midwives following my care however were hit and miss. 3/5 were amazing, unfortunately 2 were quite rude and doing double shifts, so no doubt exhausted. It also took an entire day to discharge us in the sweltering heat! Honestly, the fact it was so incredibly hot, I was in pain and learning to bf my baby who went from 0-100 from night one, it was just hard all round but I do find it hard to forget the poor aftercare from those 2 midwives.

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
