Hey everyone, I’m a first time mummy . I’m 35 weeks and I’m due soon. I’m s****** myself thinking about labour and birth, mostly thinking if midwives are gonna be nice and gentle as unfortunately we always hear some “sad” stories about the experience they had.
Did anyone gave birth in the birth centre at Homerton Hospital in London?

I have given birth in the birth centre and the labour ward at Homerton and it was totally fine and the midwives were lovely! There were some things they did that didn't feel "gentle" like examinations etc but you can say no to anything you don't want! Everyone was super kind. Also birth isn't gentle - it's a huge thing and it is extremely intense.
I also know people who had less than great experiences there, but this is true for all hospitals. Just make sure you have done your research on what birth is like, and maybe try to book a tour round the birth centre (I think they do these) so you can be as prepared as possible

I’m Not in London but had a great birth experience.
I would recommend to Write a birth plan with your preferences.
I also suggest think you may consider a doula that helps you mentally before birth even happens. You need to be r laced and trust your body, fear will not make it easier but harder for the drug like hormones that get you through this

I've given birth at Hommerton, and it was fine. Just go with the flow.

Yeah, I had a sweep, and it didn't do much. I was booked for induction at 41+2, but my contraction started the night before, I was admitted to the birth centre as I wanted a water birth, I was given a room with a nice big birth pool and stayed there all night (contracting), but unfortunatelly, some 12 hours later I was still not dilated enough so sent out to do some more walking, whilst on pain meds. When I got back, they've moved me to the normal ward and were to start inducing me with the drip, but I ended up having emergency C section. Everyone was really nice and caring, but things did not go the way I wanted /planned, but that's ok. In the end, I ended up with my perfect baby, and that was the most important. That's why I said go with the flow, plans can change.
Don't be scared, and congratulations 💐🎊
