Rolling over

So my baby boy is 5 months old and has not learned to roll over yet. But he can roll to his side. He gets plenty of floor play time.He likes to lay on his belly during playtime so he’s mostly on his stomach. Is he behind?

My baby is a little over 5 months and just yesterday rolled from his belly to back. I don’t think he’s behind at all!

I dont think so, “they” say 6 months I believe.

No and it will happen before you know it. My son did that forever then one day he just started rolling all over the place

My girl is in the same boat. She’s rolled tummy to back 3 times. Never back to tummy but will roll on her side. She would get more floor time if she wasn’t so whinny lol always wanting held

Mine is just over 5 months and figured it out yesterday. Both directions in the same day. I think it’s just a target, but I’d say a few weeks give or take really doesn’t put them behind.

It takes time not all babies are the same

Don’t worry! My son was just okay at it at 5 months. Probably wasn’t very good at stomach to back at all. And then now at 6 months he’s unstoppable.

Like ashlyn said, 6 months is the recommended time they start rolling over, but the other fact is that every baby is different. I personally wouldn’t start being concerned until 8-9 months.

Mine only rolls tummy to back in one direction. He has rolled the other side a few times but it’s truly rare & he has only rolled from back to tummy twice.

Avatar

Mine is 6 months and he has not fully rolled over. Just from back to side.
I’m not thinking that he’s behind. He’s just taking his time with development skills

Avatar

I wouldn’t stress! It’s really common :)

My mom told me I didn't roll until 10 months. I was crawling before I every rolled. I think it's too early to stress out about it

My son is also 5 months almost 6 and he just figured out how to roll from stomach to back and he rolls to his side when he’s on his back. Rolling to the side is a start!!

Is his head big the big head children take longer to be able to do stuff because their poor head weighs them down

Avatar

FWIW, mine also didn’t roll until literally last Thursday. I saw a thread on Reddit on this and some people recommended that doing certain exercises to integrate the baby’s Moro reflex will help them learn to roll. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/fZUNpg6VwSU

My son it’s same I also scared he is behind! And my mom it’s scaring me about it haha
But reading all of you got me a little piece

I would say, stretch baby DAILY. This helps them get in the rhythm of moving their body. My son started rolling around 3 months 2 weeks. And I believe it's because I stretch him everyday and move his legs in a roll over position. He rolls from his back to stomach and stomach to back. But again, like a mentioned comment above... every baby is different because every environment is different.

My lo is the same way 😭 I’m not worried. My first daughter didn’t learn to roll until close to seven months

Avatar

5 months and not rolling either.

All babies are different ☺️ your baby will roll over once he is ready . My niece took long time to roll , crawl, and walk .
My son is 6m/o and he rolled without too much tummy time or exercises .
I feel that all babies do their milestones once they feel ready.
Don’t stress out mama you are doing amazing !!
Caring too much is also amazing because it shows how much you love your baby ❤️

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.
