My baby is going through the 4 month regression now, he can sleep on me for naps and at night we co sleep. My priority right now is to prevent over tiredness hence I give into the contact naps.. my plan is also to sleep train when my baby is 7/8 months which I’m hoping will reduce the need for contact naps, is this a good idea or Should I keep persevering to put him down ? Any tips on how to get a baby to go down and stay asleep will be appreciated but please note my baby doesn’t take the dummy!

I did contact naps for months and eventually transitioned to cot for naps. Do whatever suits you. I miss the contact naps now, they were the best. Contact naps now doesn’t mean he’ll never sleep on his own. He’s still learning he’s safe in the world. I transitioned to cot naps from about 7 months (otherwise he was mostly contact/car/pram) and he learned it was fine within a week. Do whatever works for you, but don’t feel guilty or stressed about contact napping. I also got a floorbed so it was easy to feed him to sleep then roll away, but that caused its own dependency. I don’t regret it though, they’re only little once and they learn independence through feeling safe being dependent to begin with
