NEED HELP AND GUIDANCE
My son is just turning eight weeks old and since he was about a week or two old, he’s been dealing with extreme discomfort he would spit up almost everything he would put down very violently was always extremely gassy we took them to children’s one night. It was so bad. They didn’t do anything, but monitor him because he didn’t pee while we were there. They just chopped it up to reflux. My pediatrician just looked at their notes and prescribed him some medicine which has been helping a little bit, but he still spits up a lot, though not as violent is always extremely gassy. It’s almost impossible to wind him. And his poop keeps getting thicker and thicker. I’ve tried everything I can think of even cutting out dairy and soy out of my diet and nothing seems to help. It breaks my heart hearing him crying in pain so often.

my son started spitting up almost his whole bottle too — it ended up being pyloric stenosis

Awww I’m so sorry to hear this. Have you tried giving him formula to see if it stops? . I would at least make sure he is upright or elevated during and even after feeding to help the reflux. Have you tried eliminating things that cause reflux in your diet… tomato sauces, fried foods, etc?
This is a tricky age. Pediatricians always say it’s the digestive system getting activated in so many words.

He’s probably lactose and has colic real bad hope he gets better 💞

Hi! Ok my daughter was the same way and it was because she was lactose intolerant! I should’ve known she was because when I was pregnant with her I was lactose intolerant lol. But I breast fed with her in the beginning and even cutting the milk and dairy out of my diet didn’t help. I supplemented with formula and quit with my milk and I finally found the right one that helps my baby. We use nutramigen hypoallergenic formula. It doesn’t smell the best but she took to it and she was able to sleep better. She wasn’t fussy every time I layed her down or when I held her or just in general. She wasn’t crying so much anymore. She was able to keep her bottles down and was so much more happy. The first day of her having she took to it really well and actually would keep it down and didn’t fuss. She took about 2 days to get fully adjusted to it. But it was like a miracle for her. We thought she had colic/reflux like her older brother did but she didn’t. I hope this helps in any way possible!

I’m not saying you do any of this I’m just trying to help in any way I can! Another tip is don’t let them do any sort of tummy time after each feed or move them around too much after the eat! Their tummy’s are full and if the stomach gets pushed on from tummy time or sloshed around from too much movement right away it will make it come up. I also try to keep my baby propped up after eating for about 30 minutes so their tummy has time adjust and help keep it down. I usually like to put a pillow down and a blanket over it and kind of making like a seat for her or putting her in the swing to help keep her up. I hope any of this helps!’

My daughter was having some similar issues with reflux and gas. We were given a probiotic to try before resorting to medication. She appears to be passing gas more frequently and less spit up, but she still experiences occasional pain. It’s still early so hopefully she will continue to improve.

Is dairy still out of your diet? Can take two weeks to clear. My sister in law it was pineapple so maybe try sour foods. Do you feed him upright? Is he exclusively fed at the breast or does he get bottles too? If bottles are you using the SS or preemie nipples to slow intake? Are you sitting him up 14 minutes after every meal?
Also I see a more holistic pediatrician and she recommended “Natrum Phos6- 3X tissue salt helps neutralise acids and aids digestion. Give this 3 times a day to your baby for 4-6 weeks and if results are encouraging, continue until all symptoms are resolved.
Magnesium Phos 6-3X is another tissue salt that helps with cramps, spasm and pain. It works best when administered in a tiny amount or warm water and can be given at the same time as the Natrum Phos 3X
Aethusia 30:This is the ideal homeopathic medicine for those babies who cannot tolerate breastmilk and have vomiting, regurgitation and/or silent reflux. Give this medicine twice a day until symptoms improve.

Sorry cut off my last comment due to length… lastly has your baby been assessed for boy tension? We say a mouth, feeding, and speak therapist who diagnosed our baby with torticollis related mouth tension that was causing him to swallow a ton of air. She gave us a bunch of exercises to help.

My son would spit up a lot and would have what seemed like painful gas. We talked to his dr and they recommended gripe water or gas drops. We did some research and went with gas drops. Its been about a week and hes doing so much better!

My son was the same way. I used a kids plastic fork to stir up his formula and NOT shake it. The bubbles make him get colic and spit up. Also DO NOT lay your baby down after feeding keep him upright for 30 min. Directly after feeding make sure he burps if he doesn’t burp keep trying, there are different methods and one I use the most for my 2 month old now is I hold one hand on his bottom and the other with his head. I tilt back and front his body SLOWLY 3 times like if I was laying him down. then I lay him straight to my chest (his head by mine and his feet towards my stomach like caring him upright) usually does the trick and you can hear the burp coming up. Then I repeat again if he hast burped. Also I do rub his back bottom to top so he can keep his back straight.
Again don’t lay him down without a burp from him.
