My 2 day old new born slept great in the bassinet at the hospital. As soon as we brought her home she started cluster feeding and will fall asleep in our arms but refuses to sleep in the portable sleep nest and portable bassinet we bought. Im not sure if the issue is with the sleep nest and bassinet or the cluster feeding. Are there any tips for getting a cluster feeding newborn to sleep or tips for newborns who won't sleep in a new bassinet?

Totally normal — day 2 is peak cluster-feeding time and babies often want extra closeness. It’s usually less about the bassinet itself and more about the big adjustment from womb → hospital → home.
A few gentle tips:
✨ Swaddle + white noise + dark room to mimic the womb
✨ Hold upright ~10–15 mins after feeds (gas/reflux help)
✨ Try one bassinet stretch per cycle — small wins count
✨ Warm sheet briefly before transfer (remove heat source first)
If you want more support, this is exactly what I cover in my Infant Sleep Foundations (0-4 mo) package — newborn sleep rhythms, bassinet transitions, and gentle support without cry-it-out. Always happy to help 💛

I just had my first in January and didn’t know that cluster feeding was a thing but now having gone though it, your baby will not want to be put down to sleep until they feel satisfied which could be after potentially hours of being on you (if you are breastfeeding). They will sleep, I promise! Your milk supply is still being established and your baby needs to cluster feed to alert your body to produce more milk. It’s going to suck because your nipples are also adjusting (highly recommend nipple balm and cool compression!). And at the point when they are ready to sleep, highly recommend swaddling. Either how they were swaddled at the hospital with the blankets or one that you’ve bought (velcro or zipper). You’ll get through it!
