32/36 weeks scan UK

Just was told that the NHS does not offer any scans at 32 and 36 weeks for IVF pregnancies anymore. So I could not book my appointments. But the OB I saw couple weeks ago and the midwives from this morning knew nothing about it…. Feeling a bit helpless, I need the reassurance :(

Could you book a private scan? I got regular growth scans from 28 weeks because of my age rather than the IVF.

This doesn’t sound right! I’m having growth scans for IVF and I had at 32 and I have next week for 36. It may differ based on location? But I definitely have x

If it was a normally conception they wouldn’t offer additional scans unless they felt it was needed so tha would make it difference if it was an IVF pregnancy.

I did have regular scans as they thought my baby was big, I was suspected to have diabetes, I had a haematoma and my baby was breach at one point but had nothing to do with it being an IVF pregnancy.

I’m getting the extra scans not because of IVF, but because of IVF + fibroids that they want to monitor. So if IVF is the only factor, then you’re low risk and don’t need them. However, they may offer additional ones if there’s anything before then that they want to monitor, eg low lying placenta or as Amanda says, big/small baby or diabetes

If you want the assurance and can afford it, private scans are great as it’s less medical and you can ask to see particular things, have it in 4D, have more people attend if you wanted.

I had extra scans, but mine was due to having miscarriages and then IC. They said if it was just down to ivf I wouldn't have them because my pregnancy was originally low risk.

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
