My biggest tip.. Don’t unless absolutely necessary! I got induced because I had (very controlled) GD. Looking back it was completely unnecessary and put my body through a lot for no reason. But if you have to - bring things to keep you occupied - it will most likely take a while! And make sure you eat before going to the hospital

They are making me get it I’ve tried to say no and they said I need to because I had high blood pressure due to where I was living but they said because I’m high risk with everything I have to…. I’m already 1cm been for over a week

Pay attention to your body. Your baby will let you know if there is distress. I had to get induced too, don’t think I had too either but they scare you into thinking you do. I even tried not takin pain meds but it’s impossible after they induce

Avoid getting your water broken before 6cm dilated, your labor might slow down or stall
Inductions require a lot of intervention so be prepared for that.
Make sure you move a lot, use a birth ball (do exercises, not just bouncing) and stay mobile.
If you get the epidural, use a peanut ball and ask a nurse to help you switch positions
A lot more I could say but with the time crunch, it’ll be too much info to try to learn in a short period.

Absolutely eat before you go! And get sleep before hand. It certainly can be lengthy.
Also, if you do not want something specific done during your induction, you do not have to have it done. My doctor was pushy about the foley balloon. Even after expressing I did not want it, she came to check my cervix with it in her hand. I closed my legs, told her to leave the room and asked my nurse for the hospital doctor instead of my obgyn affiliated doctor.

Yes! I was induced twice once because of a liver disorder and the second because I was over 40w
It can take a while, and contractions I’ve heard can be more painful as they are chemically induced
Take a fire stick so you can watch tv in the hospital or a book to read. If you’re closed they will give you a drug before pitocin to dilate you and that can take longer
They may offer a foley balloon - personally I found that really uncomfortable! But it helps you dilate faster

Eat before you go. It took me almost 24 hours for baby to come and I was fucking starving

Eat Eat Eat!!!! & get the epidural lol
