Okay mommas Help! It’s weaning time 🫣🫠

Baby girl will be 2 soon and I’m ready to call it! So I’ve been trying to deny feeds outside of before nap and bedtime (and middle of the night because sleep is most important).

But omg I tried denying morning feed and she screamed like I just dropped her- she’s actually fallen and cried less. I tried talking/speech “bigger girl, we can still cuddle etc”, singing, just silence and holding, distraction but then she’d remember her request throw herself in my lap and claw at my chest.

I caved because my nervous system and the neighbors 😅

I have no idea how to stick to weaning..suggestions or your journey stories welcomed!!

I have successfully removed the before nap & before bedtime feeds. Although she often wants it after she wakes up from her nap I made the dependence for breastfeeding before sleep a priority to eliminate.

But that morning feed??? Tuh. I have no idea how I’m going to eliminate that one. My baby will be 2 in May and I am setting a hard deadline. But it ain’t gonna be pretty. Or easy. I almost think we need to leave the house before the baby wakes up every morning for a week. Too bad Dad doesn’t live here and I don’t have a nanny like that. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Praying for you sis. We can do this.

Don’t offer don’t refuse and add lots of extra snacks and water during the day, and a replacement comforter like a cuddly toy if she’ll accept it

I’ve successfully cut out all feeds except for the bedtime ones. Sometimes it works if I just say “it’s all gone, no more milk” which does result in kick offs a lot but if all else fails I get the bubbles out. I make sure that I get really over the top mega excited about it and I blow bubbles for us to dance through and try and pop. This usually distracts her enough that I can then use other toys to start playing with and distract her.

I try not to let the thought of milk linger too long by trying to explain to her, distraction with mega excitement works best x

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

Co sleeping

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

Schedule/Routine

My LO is 11 weeks and I’m trying to start building a routine, as I’ve noticed her sleep varies. The last couple of days have been really difficult to get her to nap and she’s clearly tired but fights it. I’m wondering if I had more structure in our day, if it would help. She also doesn’t sleep through the night yet. Any recommendations or methods that worked for people? Or is this all normal and I just need to wait it out?

Breastfeeding

Does it actually get easier?

Two weeks postpartum and I’m exhausted. Baby is awake every 1-2 hours feeding and is EBF. I can’t sleep during day as my toddler doesn’t nap and so I feel like I’m running on fumes.
Do you get longer stretches when baby is breastfed? I’ve seen some women say they haven’t slept in years for more than two hours due to breastfeeding!

I need your help/advice

My 6 day old hasn’t done a poo for almost 72 hours now. He’s been passing wind and peeing normally. The last time I spoke to the midwife, it had been 48 hours since his last poo, and she said she wasn’t too worried and advised me to continue feeding him.

I’m calling again tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. We switched from formula to 100% breastfeeding about 3 days ago, and I have no idea whether he’s getting enough milk. I can see and hear him swallowing, but it’s still so confusing trying to know how much he’s actually getting.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?
