Does it actually get easier?
Two weeks postpartum and I’m exhausted. Baby is awake every 1-2 hours feeding and is EBF. I can’t sleep during day as my toddler doesn’t nap and so I feel like I’m running on fumes.
Do you get longer stretches when baby is breastfed? I’ve seen some women say they haven’t slept in years for more than two hours due to breastfeeding!

Hi, I don't have any answers, just hear to say I feel you! I have a 3 week old who wakes every 1-2 hours and a nearly 4 year old who doesn't nap. I have found popping a film on to give myself a little lie in some mornings helps but to be honest, I have just considered switching to combi feeding.
Formula is slower to digest which is why you often see longer stretches between feeds.
I have tried going to bed when my eldest does but baby often cluster feeding in the evenings.

My baby is 4 weeks and ebf I’m awake every 45 mins to an hour

I was ebf but the cluster feeding and lack of sleep was just too much so I switched to combi feeding and it was a life saver. I still wake every few hours during the night and I tend to breastfeed at night but its better and she is full for longer. I pump a couple of times a day and we also use formula so my husband can bottle feed and give me a break occasionally. Our daughter took a bottle quite well early on but I have heard the longer you leave it the less likely they are to accept a bottle

Hey, I'm EBF and my LO is 5.5 months now and it does get better. She wakes 1-2 times at night so more because her nappy is full and I feed her to sleep again just to make sure she will sleep the rest of the night.
Those first weeks are brutal

It's not necessarily breastfeeding that keeps some mums awake, some children just don't sleep long stretches and that's ok! Everyone told me it would be easier once I stopped feeding, so I did, and nothing changed 🤣 he's nearly 2 now and we have had month long periods where he sleeps through overnight, and then gone back to waking twice a night, then back to sleeping through.
It does get easier, but not being able to sleep in the day is going to make things really hard! Can you co sleep and side lie for feeding overnight? It means you get much less disturbed sleep and will likely feel more rested.

it's not breastfeeding. there's no evidence that formula fed babies sleep longer either. my son slept in long stretches from 2 months old. the 4 month sleep regression did mess that up but it slowly got better again by 6 months and by 9 months he only woke for 1 feed and slept through by 10 months. some babies just sleep more than others. some sleep through from birth and others not until 3 or 4 even. babies are meant to wake in the night for feeds and comfort. it's normal and a preventative of sids

Nearly 4 months pp and it's so much better, those first few weeks were brutal. My LO isn't the best sleeper but she does maybe three feeds a night
Do you and when did you start turning on ms.rachel for your little ones? My baby is 10 months and I don't turn on any screens for her but I have heard that people start early to help with speech development. Obviously in moderation. Any thoughts

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

My 4 week old seems to just not want to settle/sleep unless she is on me or my husband or being nursed by me. Every time I try to transfer tonight she just starts crying and getting inconsolable. Have made sure she’s fed, burped, helped with gas, changed etc but nothing seems to be working tonight when usually she is ok. I am absolutely exhausted and my husband is working tomorrow so having to manage solo is pretty tough. Anyone else or any suggestions?

My 6 day old hasn’t done a poo for almost 72 hours now. He’s been passing wind and peeing normally. The last time I spoke to the midwife, it had been 48 hours since his last poo, and she said she wasn’t too worried and advised me to continue feeding him.
I’m calling again tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. We switched from formula to 100% breastfeeding about 3 days ago, and I have no idea whether he’s getting enough milk. I can see and hear him swallowing, but it’s still so confusing trying to know how much he’s actually getting.
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
