So my LO is 11 weeks old and has had a dummy since she was about 2 weeks old as she was very colicky and it helped to sooth her. She only has it for sleep but she is very reliant on it to fall asleep (we’ve managed the last few nights to not offer it again throughout the night with mostly success). However, she seems to either struggle to keep it in when going to sleep, or just doesn’t want to - I must’ve put it in 30 times this evening as she kept spitting it out. She’s started sucking her hands recently and I feel like she’d rather do this as she’s trying to get to them in the Love to Dream swaddle but she’s then knocking the dummy out and crying for it! It’s driving me insane and I don’t know what to do! We’ve tried multiple brands and it doesn’t seem to make a difference…

My babies the exact same age and hes the same honestly i have to hold it in for him until he’s in a deep sleep. Sucking his hands all time we had to take him out of love to dream swaddle because hes started rolling and hes either got hand in mouth or having to hold dummy in.

To be honest it’s probably not going to get better until they are much much more older and can pick it up and put it back in themselves no matter what brand you use it’s pretty much the same, if can self soothe with hands I would try do that one instead

Could it be that they’ve potentially outgrown the dummy size? We had to up the size of my LO’s dummy to the 6-18m size super early because the 0-2/0-6m was simply too small for him and he got irritated a lot by the fact he just couldn’t hold onto it. As soon as we swapped the size he was straight back to living it.
Also could be that there’s not any way for her to latch onto it properly. We had this for a bit before we figured out that if he doesn’t have grab hold of it properly it would just plop straight out and he was back to wriggling around fussing. Now we have to angle it a particular way and hold it there for a min whilst he would latch onto it fully.
Hope this helps, best of luck :)

Mine does too
How many words does your 18mo have? We've got about 6/7 and have been told by nursery and the health visitor thats the lower end/slightly behind. She understands very well, but rarely uses the words she knows and was a late babbler.
Just wondering if anyone else had been through the same with any advice to help her speech?

WHEN DOES THE WHINING STOP?!? I am so fed up with it. I’ve had a headache for the last 19 days because my son (17m) whines about EVERY. SINGLE. THING. And screams all the freaking time.

Looking for some advice, my nearly 5 week old baby will suck on a dummy for around 1-2 mins then spits it out and start fussing again that he wants it, sometimes he will even wake up from a nap for it. This will continue until he falls into a deep sleep and eventually when the dummy falls out he won’t wake back up . He will also settle without a dummy so does he maybe just not want it or are the dummies too big for his mouth I’m not sure 😩 we have tried the mam newborn orthodontic ones and the tommee tippee 0-2 month (the teat on these are a lot bigger). He is also formula fed, has anyone else been through this if so all advice welcome 🙏🏻

Hi, was just wondering if there is any advice for a new mum with a baby girl who is 16 days old with her going for a poo. Her belly isn’t hard or anything but she seems to be going like every 4/5 days without a poo is this normal? I’ve been doctors twice now they are not bothered. So just wanted to hear some advice or experiences. Because I feel like this isn’t normal so would love to help her.
I do the moving legs daily, also bath sometimes helps but not all the time.
