My mum told me that she was ashamed of him because he was being rude on the bus, saying he’s king of the world and would sit where he wants. I agree that’s not acceptable and he should sit where she tells him but I’m not sure if this is perhaps how many 4 year olds would act? He doesn’t get the bus often so was probably excited. She was very cross with him which I’ve never seen before. I don’t want to come down too hard on him but I also want us to be on the same page about how to respond to any challenging behaviour 🤦🏻♀️

Bless you... It's hard as at this age they basically pick up everything from their friends at nursery /playgroups etc. It's about being patient and explaining everything in the way they really understand. I wouldn't say it's how many 4 years old would act. But no reason to be too harsh with him. If he sees this behaviour among his friends it might seem completely normal so depending on his peer group and how things are explained to him xx

I honestly think this is quite normal and he is really experimenting with how far he can push people before a consequence....he's building up bravery and will be taught what's brave and what's rude/unacceptable... My little girl says similar things, but I try to look at it through her eyes and say if it's a game, then we can play it at home, because, for example, the bus isnt an appropriate place for this.
Without sounding bad, is it possible that your mum felt a bit embarrassed, maybe he was being loud (a child), with other people present and it's exemplified the situation, when if he was shouting I'm the king of the world at a park....it would deemed as play ?
I don't think you have anything to worry about ! It it starts getting aggressive , rude, not listening or understanding then perhaps firmer boundaries are needed ...but for now, I think saying I'm the king of the world is fine lol xx
FTM to a one month old and we want to travel to visit family so they can meet the baby. The drive is only 4 hours away but online keeps saying to take breaks etc because its dangerous to have the baby in a car seat for more than 2 hours at a time. Anyone been thru something similar? And what did you do?

Hi all, my baby is almost 6 weeks and in the past few days have been a real struggle as I breastfeed him, he temporarily falls asleep on me than suddenly wake up and cries non stop. No hunger or cold/warm temp or gassiness involved I believe - I tried also putting them in any position (on me as well), but nothing really works.
Quite sleep deprived therefore - both of us.
Anyone having something similar at month 2? How did you deal with it?
Any suggestion is welcome 🫶🏻

So my recently turned 10 month old has just started throwing his head back and making his body rigid when he’s not happy about something - like being put in his play pen, being taken for a nappy change/ nap etc. I’m worried of him doing it and hitting his head hard or worse being dropped (he is very big and heavy) - there has been a few near misses already.
He has also bitten me a few times in the last month (he’s got opposing teeth so really hurts) - luckily that seems to be lessening.
Just wondering if others are/ did have similar experience with their LB? Is it normal to start tantrum type behaviour at this age? And if so how do you react to it?

If your toddler 2 years wakes up at night and you know it’s a regression and they’re not crying just making whining noises and other sounds would you go into his/her room or just wait for them to fall asleep again even if it takes up to an hour?

I just needed to rant and get this out.
I’m 5 months postpartum on the 21st and I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. I look in the mirror and barely recognise myself.
I’ve tried different things, I’ve changed my hair, try doing my makeup, bought new clothes and it all seems to make me feel worse.
And the weird thing is, it’s not my c section scar or my stretch marks that are actually bothering me, I can admire they gave me my beautiful son. It’s literally EVERYTHING else about myself I just hate looking at myself in the mirror!
I don’t think it helps that I feel so lonely, I don’t feel like many people understand what I went through with my labour and what I’m going through MH wise now and just think I’m being ignorant but I physically don’t have the mental capacity to message people everyday and be in constant conversation but yet I crave human interaction and friends.
Does everyone feel this way at first and when does it go away?

Has anyone made a switch overnight rather than a gradual change? If so how did your baby react. My baby girl is 3 months and I’m planning to switch. She’s exclusively bottle fed.
