Does anyone else’s child still sleep in a sleeping bag rather than a blanket and pillow?

I’ve been thinking about this and when I should maybe start trying to introduce a pillow and blanket or one or the other.

Has anyone introduced a blanket and pillow for their little one yet? When? How did it go? Do you have any recommendations on which ones are best/safe? It really makes me feel on edge because he moves around the cot alot. He also loves to lay on top of blankets and snuggle them so I worry he’ll end up laying on top of it and be cold

We use a pillow and found it really helps her stay in one place, although that could be a coincidence I suppose. Also helps when she has a cold which seems to be always 😂 Haven’t introduced a blanket or duvet yet as her sleeping bag still fits. I’m thinking of doing it as she grows out of it / the weather warms up in a few months so she’s used to it before it gets cold again next winter.

I wouldn’t dare trust this kid not to pull it over his head trynna play peekaboo at 3am half asleep🤣

We're sticking with sleeping bags as long as they fit!
We may introduce a pillow though as he loves the pillows in our bed!

Still using sleep bags! My son sleeps really well with them and I'm too scared to do anything that may interfere with that 🤣 His room usually gets very warm during the summer though so I think I may wait until then to introduce a pillow and blanket as at least I know he won't be getting cold if he wriggles the blanket off 😂

Sleeping bags still, he loves them. We have a routine for bed when we zip it up most of the way, he sticks his little toes out and holds them up for kisses 😭

Sleeping bag still with no pillow. He’s happy enough and sleeps well so no intention of changing things right now

I’ll do a sleeping bag til spring/summer ‘27 and naturally transition out then as I’ll just use a blanket if still napping. Come winter I’ll get a duvet and transition to a bed (it not tried to escape the cot before!) x

Do you stick to the 30 minute car seat advice ?

We live in a small village and the 2 nearest cities are around 45 minutes from us. Seems silly to get the baby out for the sake of 15 minutes

Stepkids (12F, 17M) hating the new pregnancy.. how to handle?

Hey everyone, looking for advice on navigating some tough stepfamily dynamics.

My partner and I have been together for a while. There was a lot of drama with his ex at the beginning, so the kids didn't like me initially. I get why the transition was hard, but we're running into a wall now that I gave birth.

The 12-year-old daughter has been super moody and upset about the pregnancy, especially stressing over whether it's a girl (we waited till I gave birth to find out the gender). On a recent FaceTime (which included the ex and the 17yo son), she literally sat in the background the whole time texting, ignoring us completely.

It really unsettled me especially the thought of her resentment if I had a daughter. I gave birth to a baby boy but still.

How do you guys handle stepkids who are openly resentful about a new baby, and how do you set boundaries with FaceTime calls when the ex is involved? Any advice is appreciated!

Getting angry

So recently my 2 year old has learned that he gets mad/ frustrated . Some girl took the ball from him like 2 times and the 3rd time he got mad and kinda growled but like when you’re mad. Then I bought him Legos and he’s learning some pieces are hard to stick together well he built a tower and screamed I’m mad right now ! And I told him it’s ok take a deep breath and let’s pick them up. And I just started reading tiny humans big emotions. Now I guess I better hurry up but for now how do you guys handle situations like these especially in public I know it starts at home but I need advice for both just so I don’t tell him the wrong thing and make him feel like he can’t cry or have feelings

Looking for support

Last night was one of the most frightening and emotionally overwhelming nights I’ve experienced in a long time, and I’m honestly not sure what to do.

Baby boy changes clothes 😳

Just fully changed vest and pjs number 4 or 5 in 24 hours oh myyyyyy. Between sneaky pees while changing nappy, poop or pee leak, and spit ups my washing is crazy! Usually 2 sleeping bags and at least 1 new sheet per each night also due to spit ups in bed 😖😖😖 ps spit ups are small but somehow with angle he soaks his whole arm so I have no choice… And of course they HATE the changing and scream!
