Daughter won’t stop crying

I don’t know what to do. She’s not hungry, her diaper doesn’t need to be changed. She seems sleepy. We are both sick with a cough. All I know to do is pat her back as she cries. I have no clue what else to do. She’s had her medications for the day. Am I horrible to just let her cry things out if all her needs have already been met?

I wonder if it is an ear infection. My oldest did something similar and I had no idea what was wrong because he didn’t mess with his ears at all but it ended up being an ear infection.

If she’s crying like that, her needs probably haven’t been met. I understand it’s exhausting but you just gotta keep trying. Some things you can try: Talbots Chamomile tablets, hylands cold tablets, Boiron colic liquid doses, epsom salt bath. Check for possible ear infection as well.

how long ago she took her medicine and which kind?? how old she??

and as for you, You’re amazing mama. and do breathing slow .

if she took her medication with no food or milk/breastfed, it can lead to tummy aches.
trying your best to feed her 1st then 2nd her medicine.

touch her tummy if she cry harder or worse.

if medicine doesn’t see help stop give it and reach to children ER for check in and review it.

my son got sick with cold but i didn’t know he also has infection in his throat. His dr gave me his proper medicine. dr advice me just give ANYTHING whatever take have him drink: water, milk, juice,or formula. hydrate is number 1 important.
do same for your daughter. it’s okay for her not eating as her usual food. it’s temporary at least she got better.

it’s 10 days for my son be sick. he got better and returned to his usual food.

The amoxicillin might be hurting her stomach. She sounds exactly how my baby was when he had an ear infection and was on it a few weeks ago.

Going for a walk or drive or put her in a carrier. Or a bath. That can help reset if they are just upset and having a hard time regulating.

(Plus all the other advice here which is fantastic for hydrating)

For the ear infection, of you think it might still be that and you are at the end of the amoxicillin course, I would schedule a follow-up if you don't have one already. They can look on her ear and see if something else is needed.

Do you stick to the 30 minute car seat advice ?

We live in a small village and the 2 nearest cities are around 45 minutes from us. Seems silly to get the baby out for the sake of 15 minutes

Stepkids (12F, 17M) hating the new pregnancy.. how to handle?

Hey everyone, looking for advice on navigating some tough stepfamily dynamics.

My partner and I have been together for a while. There was a lot of drama with his ex at the beginning, so the kids didn't like me initially. I get why the transition was hard, but we're running into a wall now that I gave birth.

The 12-year-old daughter has been super moody and upset about the pregnancy, especially stressing over whether it's a girl (we waited till I gave birth to find out the gender). On a recent FaceTime (which included the ex and the 17yo son), she literally sat in the background the whole time texting, ignoring us completely.

It really unsettled me especially the thought of her resentment if I had a daughter. I gave birth to a baby boy but still.

How do you guys handle stepkids who are openly resentful about a new baby, and how do you set boundaries with FaceTime calls when the ex is involved? Any advice is appreciated!

Getting angry

So recently my 2 year old has learned that he gets mad/ frustrated . Some girl took the ball from him like 2 times and the 3rd time he got mad and kinda growled but like when you’re mad. Then I bought him Legos and he’s learning some pieces are hard to stick together well he built a tower and screamed I’m mad right now ! And I told him it’s ok take a deep breath and let’s pick them up. And I just started reading tiny humans big emotions. Now I guess I better hurry up but for now how do you guys handle situations like these especially in public I know it starts at home but I need advice for both just so I don’t tell him the wrong thing and make him feel like he can’t cry or have feelings

Baby boy changes clothes 😳

Just fully changed vest and pjs number 4 or 5 in 24 hours oh myyyyyy. Between sneaky pees while changing nappy, poop or pee leak, and spit ups my washing is crazy! Usually 2 sleeping bags and at least 1 new sheet per each night also due to spit ups in bed 😖😖😖 ps spit ups are small but somehow with angle he soaks his whole arm so I have no choice… And of course they HATE the changing and scream!
