Transitioning from bottles and formula

Has anyone got any tips on transitioning from bottles? And from formula to cows milk? Feeling very lost with the whole process!

My LO loves his milk so much I’m not sure how to go about it! He has three bottles a day currently and none through the night. We also don’t feed to sleep so hopefully that helps a little! Any tips and tricks very welcome!

I'm wondering the same tbh. I dunno how much cows milk they can have when they turn one. So I'm also looking for advice and tips

I did read something not to do both at once (cows and different bottle) I’m planning to transition to cows milk first then once he takes to that, put it in his usual cup that he takes water from x

We transitioned by switching an ounce at a time, so she has 6oz bottles and we made 5oz formula and added 1oz cows milk, then day 2 increased etc. Personally I wouldn’t worry about the bottle, it’s just guidance! My older girl had her bedtime milk in a bottle until she was 2 years old and I just said shall we swap to a big girl cup and she was absolutely fine with it! X

My LO is 1 next week and we just switched straight to cows milk, we didn’t do half or half, and I did the same with my little girl 4 years ago, we are just using bottles for milk a moment until we figurer it all out 🙈 x

We just went straight to cows milk with the MAM bottle! And then at 18 months tried the NUK toddler bottles

I started last weekend (LG is just over 11 months)

I’m leaving formula the same & in her normal bottle, but introducing an extra ounce of cows milk in her new straw cup at each feed. This is to get her used to both the taste & the cup. Then hopefully by around 12 months she’ll be good with both & I can fully transition her.

If not we’re happy to do a mix of formula & cows milk for a bit but I want it to be in her new cup so there’s no confusion as I want her off the bottles asap ideally as apparently they can affect teeth & speech etc if used much past 12 months 🤷‍♀️

Need help for sleep

My 9mo sleeps from 7pm until 5:30 am ?
How can I get him to sleep in a little later until 6:30 !

Also regarding naps during the day are we capping those naps and waking them up or letting them sleep for however long they need it ?

Hate the newborn stage

Does anyone else absolutely hate the newborn stage? So many of my friends love to borrow him for "newborn snuggles" or whatever but I just can't bring myself to care and just leave him to sleep in his crib as much as possible. I just feel so disconnected from my baby... and in hindsight, I had this with my first 2 as well - I keep them alive but wouldn't say I truly bond with them until 6 months+...

Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I can't openly talk about it with friends/family without serious judgement though I finally admitted it to my husband last night - I don't think I ever admitted it (even to myself) with my first 2. Is something wrong with me?

Importance of Breast Feeding?

I gave birth to my first kiddo a week ago today and all the doctors and nurses keep asking if I’m breast feeding and seeming… disappointed? Concerned? When I say that I mainly pump and bottle feed and then recommend a lactation specialist. We used formula the first couple of days at the hospital, but I now pump enough milk to keep up with feedings.
My baby just doesn’t always latch and gets frantic when he can’t latch and then it all goes downhill from there so we typically stick to bottles. He does latch maybe once or twice a day when he just won’t accept a bottle nipple or to comfort feed, but it’s easier for us to bottle feed. Should I be trying the breast first?

Co-sleeping/bed-sharing mums, how are you doing it now your baby is rolling? 😅

We co-sleep with baby in our bed with us, on our mattress. He sleeps next to me and I usually stay quite close to him, so when he starts rolling onto his side he either comes up against me or I feel him moving and wake up, then I turn him back onto his back.

Last night though I woke up and found him on his tummy and have no idea how long he’d been like that, which really scared me!

For anyone else who bed-shares like this with a rolling baby, how do you manage it? Do you keep turning them back when you notice? Have you changed your sleeping arrangement or set-up since they started rolling? Would love to know what everyone actually does in real life ❤️

9 week old slept through night?

Formula fed 9 week old here. I got the impression that I was waking my LO up to feed when she was just wriggling a bit and not actually awake and hungry. So tonight I monitored her and indeed she just slept. Her last full feed was at 21:00 (she had a 40ml snack at 23:00) and I got so anxious that I woke her up at 5:30 as she still hadnt woken. She only had 70ml lol so I guess she just wanted to be left?
Any advice or experience? 🙏

Colostrum

How on earth are we collecting colostrum?
I’m 37 weeks had to go ahead from my midwives, but how are we getting colostrum into those tiny syringes?
I’ve had expressed and colostrum is coming out. I’m scraping it into a pot, and then trying to syringe it up but obviously there isn’t a lot so how on earth are we doing this?
Is it easier to use a hand held pump?? Or hand express??
I’m a second time mum but new to colostrum and breast feeding
