We co-sleep with baby in our bed with us, on our mattress. He sleeps next to me and I usually stay quite close to him, so when he starts rolling onto his side he either comes up against me or I feel him moving and wake up, then I turn him back onto his back.
Last night though I woke up and found him on his tummy and have no idea how long heād been like that, which really scared me!
For anyone else who bed-shares like this with a rolling baby, how do you manage it? Do you keep turning them back when you notice? Have you changed your sleeping arrangement or set-up since they started rolling? Would love to know what everyone actually does in real life ā¤ļø

We got a bed rail for when our little oneās in our bed. It worked really well when he started sleeping on his tummy & definitely saved him from falling out a few times!

My 11 mo baby sleeps in her open crib that is leveled up to our bed. She cannot fall as I am on her side. She usually wakes up for a feed, comes to me for that and when she is done with the boob she rolls back to her bed (or I put her back). I guess it is an age thing that even if i move her now she doesn't wake up. How old is your baby? Can he turn on his back again in his sleep? To my knowledge, once they can turn both ways, you still put them to sleep on their back but it is safe to let them sleep if they turn on their tummy. I understand your concern though, since my baby started to turn i have to be more careful with the positioning of my pillow etc.

I have a 8 month old, she was crawling at 6 months. However as soon as she started rolling we moved the mattress on the floor. I have foam padding all around the mattress after we did that she has rolled off the mattress a few times but itās safer than having a raised bed. Bed guards are a personal preference, I personally havenāt used one as I worry about the entrapment risk and lullaby trust advises against using them.
If baby can roll boths ways I wouldnāt worry about them laying on front.
My 9mo sleeps from 7pm until 5:30 am ?
How can I get him to sleep in a little later until 6:30 !
Also regarding naps during the day are we capping those naps and waking them up or letting them sleep for however long they need it ?

I gave birth to my first kiddo a week ago today and all the doctors and nurses keep asking if Iām breast feeding and seeming⦠disappointed? Concerned? When I say that I mainly pump and bottle feed and then recommend a lactation specialist. We used formula the first couple of days at the hospital, but I now pump enough milk to keep up with feedings.
My baby just doesnāt always latch and gets frantic when he canāt latch and then it all goes downhill from there so we typically stick to bottles. He does latch maybe once or twice a day when he just wonāt accept a bottle nipple or to comfort feed, but itās easier for us to bottle feed. Should I be trying the breast first?

Formula fed 9 week old here. I got the impression that I was waking my LO up to feed when she was just wriggling a bit and not actually awake and hungry. So tonight I monitored her and indeed she just slept. Her last full feed was at 21:00 (she had a 40ml snack at 23:00) and I got so anxious that I woke her up at 5:30 as she still hadnt woken. She only had 70ml lol so I guess she just wanted to be left?
Any advice or experience? š

My little one is two weeks away from turning six months old. Weāve started weaning her on vegetables. A few weeks ago she used to sleep for five to seven-hour stretches but the last week has been awful. She wakes up every hour or two, crying but her eyes are closed. I rock her to sleep or sometimes feed her to sleep. The only way sheāll sleep for any length of time is in bed with me and my partner ā not ideal! Has anyone else been through this or is currently experiencing it? Any tips on how to help my little one sleep longer or through would be really appreciated. Thanks! X
