I found out the first time (husband asked technician and I didn't want to find out but was too late) and I'm not finding out this time and am loving it ☺️

I found out as I wanted to be able to prepare and buy things for baby that weren't only gender neutral xx

We didn’t find out with our first, I wanted to but partner didn’t! I’m so glad we didn’t as when our baby was born my partner told me what we’d had and it was so lovely. So won’t be finding out with this baby. Also it stopped everyone from buying us either pink or blue stuff 😂

I had a surprise for my first and found out for this baby. To be honest I kind of equally enjoyed both experiences. The fun of guessing till the end and finding out after seeing my son’s squishy little face was amazing. But this time I was equally excited to find out ahead of time and it has made the pregnancy so special imagining meeting this little one. It has in some ways made the pregnancy more real for me as it’s so easy to get distracted by my toddler I don’t have as much time as I had first time around to connect to the baby so knowing who they are going to be has really helped on that front

I didn’t find out with my first one but I have found out with this one.. it’s a bit of a weird one! With your first you really don’t care which you get but you kind of lean towards having a preference.

I am excited because I get to buy lots of newborn blue things an talk to my little boy about his little brother, it was getting a bit of a mouthful saying baby brother or sister each time 🤣

We had a surprise both times. It was perfect. We don’t get many wonderful surprises in life 🥰

Issues with community midwife’s

Hello
I’m 36+2 and I’m officially over the midwife care I have received, I’ve been dismissed multiple times on different subjects by multiple midwife’s in my community midwife team , I’ve not seen one consistently it’s been a group of 4 of them , I get told “ we will talk about that at the next appointment “ only to have somone else and it not be discussed & for my last 2 appointments I’ve been sent to maternity assessment .
I also asked not to see one of the midwives again and I was told it’s not possible and can’t garuntee it .

It’s causing me more stress now than anything is anyone else in the same boat ? Can I refuse maternity care going forward ?
I’m happy to go to maternity assessment if needed but I can’t with the community midwives anymore .

Planned C section

Having my second baby and this time around I have to have a C section due to complications in my last pregnancy.
Could you give me your best tips and advice. I have no idea how to prepare or what to bring or use post healing!
Super nervous about it.
Thank you 🩷

Would you go?

My sister has her hen do abroad, 6 weeks after my baby is due. I’m so torn as I know with my first I struggled leaving her for a minute when she was that small. I obviously don’t want to miss my sisters hen do as I’m maid of honour & so excited for her!
My fiance has said he is happy for me to go and he will look after our toddler and the newborn. (I’d have to pump and leave milk) although we might try to combi feed like we did for our first.
Would love to be there for both occasions. Is it so bad just for 3 nights?

How did you celebrate your baby's first birthday?

My little one is turning one soon, and I’d love to hear how other mums marked the day. Did you do a big party, a day out, or something simple at home?
