Hello
I’m 36+2 and I’m officially over the midwife care I have received, I’ve been dismissed multiple times on different subjects by multiple midwife’s in my community midwife team , I’ve not seen one consistently it’s been a group of 4 of them , I get told “ we will talk about that at the next appointment “ only to have somone else and it not be discussed & for my last 2 appointments I’ve been sent to maternity assessment .
I also asked not to see one of the midwives again and I was told it’s not possible and can’t garuntee it .
It’s causing me more stress now than anything is anyone else in the same boat ? Can I refuse maternity care going forward ?
I’m happy to go to maternity assessment if needed but I can’t with the community midwives anymore .

I had an issue with mine and I was told to go to PALS. I didn't in the end as I didn't feel well enough to deal with it. So sorry to hear you're having a bad time x

Not quite to the same extent as I had the same midwife throughout, but she wasn't the most caring of midwives, really short appointments, she missed booking my GTT (despite risk factors and suspected GDM in my last pregnancy) so I didn't get diagnosed until 31 weeks, kept me waiting for ages for my MATB1 form, forgot to give me blood forms, didn't give me the glucose drink etc etc. I complained to the head midwife and got moved to another midwife straight away, who has been so lovely.
Did they say why you couldn't change your midwife? You can decline their appointments but maybe one for you to weigh up the risks vs benefits given how late term you'll be.
Also, are you using the Badger app or handheld notes? Log in your Badger app what you want to discuss before your next appointment, or write down a list to take with you if you do decide to go to your next appointment, might make it more difficult for them to fob you off. Hope it gets better for you!
these november baby’s ain’t playing i’ve been in labor since this afternoon she’ll be here soon !

My little one is turning one soon, and I’d love to hear how other mums marked the day. Did you do a big party, a day out, or something simple at home?
