26 weeks Baby’s movement ( not felt much movement for the whole day)

Dear Mamas.
Just a little worried here as I haven’t felt my baby move today. Otherwise he’s usually quite active and I feel his lil’ kicks and wiggles every now and then. Any similar experiences ?? Hoping this is normal.

I would call your doctor just to be safe.

Call your doctor to get a professional opinion, first and foremost. However, when I talked to my OB the last time I was there, she told me that at this point it is mostly just neurological movement (basically baby’s brain connecting to the muscular system) and to not worry too much if you don’t feel baby on a regular cadence. She said at around 28 weeks is when you need to start being more diligent about counting the kicks as that is when baby truly starts stretching and moving independently of reflex movements.

Call your Dr / your local L&D and get their opinion. Iced drinks always get my baby moving in all of my pregnancies, sk maybe try that but I’d also call

If you’re super worried about it it’s always best to get it checked out! To help ease your mind though I had a few times in my last pregnancy when this would happen. The dr told me they are just like us and after being super active for a few days in a row may just need to rest and have a less active day.

Thank you so much for responses mamas. Not too long after I posted here, baby started kicking. Perhaps a reminder for me not to worry. 🥲🥰 Now the kicks are frequent and it’s such a relief. Thanks again. 🙏💕

C-Section Date

Hey!!

I am having an elected C-section for a few reasons but one being my anxiety.

I was initially told I would get a date around 39 weeks but I’ve just been told it could be 41 weeks instead.

It’s really shocked me as I think this runs a risk of her coming naturally as well as now adding 2 weeks to her due date (39 weeks now being 41).

Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to manage this kind of news and how their c-section date booking went?

Please note - I’m aware I could get a date and it be moved due to emergencies but I didn’t expect this huge change.

12 week scan - so clinical

Hello,

I’ve just had my 12 week scan. When we started baby was doing a head stand, so had to walk around for 30 minutes. When I came back, the baby was still in an unfavourable position, but could just about get measurements after doing an internal scan. I came out feeling a bit disheartened as she didn’t really say much during the scan, or after, to make me feel reassured everything was fine. I had to ask her after if everything was ok and she just said yes all fine. Am I just overthinking things or did anyone else find it just so “clinical” and one in one out kind of thing. It’s a shame because I’ve had some private scans and I was made to feel so comfortable and reassured there, but the NHS scan just made me come out with anxiety even though nothing was said to be wrong.

Induction Pain

Im currently 40+3 with no signs of baby. My midwife wants to talk induction, does anyone have any advice on pain levels and effectiveness from the different types? The balloon method sounds very uncomfortable, but seem preferential to the pessary as you can go home after insertion?

Navigating anxiety after baby measured small at 20wk scan

Hi everyone, i had my 20 week scan the other day. Everythings looking good but baby is on the smaller side particuarly head and tummy. I have been asked to go back in for a growth scan in 2 weeks time. I have been reassured by other people that some people do juat have smaller babies. My gp also advised i might need extra growth scans as some of my medications can impact growth but shouldnt be a big enough issue to come off the medications as that could have a bigger negative impact. Trying not to feel guilty as some people have smaller babies genetically anyway, i am jusr hoping to see reassuring progress at the next scan. Would appreciate tqlking to people who can relate

I had my anatomy scan today and found out I’m having a boy 🩵 would have been over the moon either way but I’ve been convinced for the past 2 months that it was a boy so it feels good to be right haha 🥹 anterior placenta so still not feeling many movements at this stage but he is ACTIVE! Wouldn’t stop moving and kicking at the scan 😅
