Returning to work after ML

I just have a general question, did anyone struggle returning back to work? Or the process of it? Don’t get me wrong I am extremely lucky that at the moment I do only 2 days a week and my MIL has my little boy so I know he’s in safe hands but I’ve been off work for over a year and I work in a primary school, I don’t drive so rely on transport and by the time I’m home I’m exhausted.

lol I’m a full-time primary teacher and I thought about dropping a day so it wouldn’t be so tough but we’re trying to sort a mortgage for a house so we rely on my full income tbh. I’m dreading it and go back properly in September for a new school year. I don’t want to work anymore now that I’ve had my baby! I know it will be ‘alright’ I’ve got lovely work colleagues and TA’s who I work with and childcare is somewhat sorted, but just feels wrong to have someone else raise my child :-(

I wish I could work 2 days as a job share! You are so lucky 💛💛💛

Im a secondary teacher and came back 4 days. My little one goes to nursery 3 days and mil 1 day. In all honesty, I hate it. Im about to have a second child, and will be trying to find a way out of teaching during maternity. It could be a secondary issue only, but I dont see why i should be spoken to, like crap, by teenagers, whilst getting other people to look after my own beautiful children.

I would have quit already, if we could have afforded it.

I go back tomorrow, I'm also lucky enough to only being going back 2 days a week but I'm dreading it. I work in a SEN/D college but with students with very complex medical needs as well as behaviour. It's exhausting at times. We're dangerously understaffed most of the time, as is most of the education sector. Luckily my husband is having baby for the 2 days I'm working, so I feel I'm missing out slightly less. I'd still rather not have to go back. I was very fortunate with my first to take 2 years off before returning to a different job

I’m also having a hard time going back to work, I’ve been on maternity leave for almost 1 year and the thought of going back to work just makes me wanna cry. But I’ve been trying positive thinking, I’m also talking to other moms who work so I can try to ease my anxiety.

Intro

Hey everyone I’m McKenna my son was born in July. He is my first baby and I love being his mommy but I’m also kind of lonely. It was like once I had my baby people got excited for about 2 weeks then fell off the face of the planet. So I’m looking to connect with other moms who are in a similar boat to me. I would love to get to know some of you!

Mirena (Birth control)

Is anyone else using Mirena has a birth control option after having a baby. Since I got it inserted I’ve been bleeding nonstop. I got it done in June 2026 and it’s now October and I’m still bleeding. There are days where it’s much lighter but then picks back up. Please let me know I’m Jo the only one.

Chicken Kiev 🍗🐓

Homemade Chicken Kyiv with creamy mashed potatoes, because sometimes a little butter is exactly what the soul needs 🧈🤌🏼
Mommas, are we in our green juice, protein-packed, healthy goddess era… or are we surviving motherhood one buttery, comforting meal at a time? 😂

What’s on your menu lately?
