How would you feel

The past Saturday my mom and my sister had my 15 month old. He just recently started walking full time. That night at 11pm I get a phone call from my mom saying that he hit his eye on the corner of the table in the living room supposedly he was trying to grab the table but slipped and hit his eye. He had swelling and a small cut from it. I immediately went to go pick my son up. I was so angry. Then she tells me he was tired but if you knew he was tired why wasn't he in the crib ? Also my mom told me that she didn't see it that she was in the kitchen cooking and that my sister was out in the living room with him. My oldest daughter comes back and says no grandma was in the living room sitting on the couch she was there with us. My older daughter and my middle daughter seen it. Why lie? Now I can't even trust you. I'm already furious that my baby hit his eye on the table but you LYING? on top of that. It's like I know my mom and sister feel extremely guilty that it even happened but I'm so disappointed 😞 I barley slept the night I picked him up. Now it's like I don't even trust my own mom what else did she lie about? Please help me navigate this situation with my family. Thank you

By the way my son is okay he's moving and active as usual and the swelling went down

Im sorry this happened to you & your baby ugh im mad for you! Honestly, I would have that uncomfortable conversation. Just to let your mom know that its not okay to lie to you about your son. It was an accident granted but the lying is the part that brings mistrust & lack of accountability!

Better than my mom. My mom said our child was sleep every time we would call and check on him… When the day came for us to pick him up, she had Destine caked under his eye. It was purple and blue and only God knows how long our baby cried in her care…

Your mom didn’t mean for it to happen and she called you right away.. At least she was concerned enough to make you aware. My mom had my sister help her cover that incident up.

Is it normal for him to be up at that time or had you given instructions that he should be in bed? The lying is the frustrating part but shes probably feeling guilty she saw it happen and couldn't stop it. Unfortunately accidents do happen a lot when babies start moving. 😥

First I’m sorry your baby hurt him but things like that happen to babies and toddlers. Hell even kids. You have other children so you know you can’t watch them 24/7. As long as he’s ok I wouldn’t be too upset at that. I would however be upset that she lied about where she was and who was around him. Nobody wants a child hurt on their watch but you have to be honest about what happened and where you were. She’s also your mom so I’m sure this isn’t the first time she’s lied to you and it probably won’t be the last but she has to be honest about what happens with your children. But buckle up for the ride boys get into a lot of things and hurt themselves, just have to be more precious

Am I overthinking this?

Hey! My baby is 3.5 months now and I'm absolutely loving being a mum. I'm EBF and finally feeling more confident with it. But I feel like I maybe make things so much harder than they need to be. I've never been a laid back person; I like to be organised and punctual but obviously, this goes out of the window now and I'm just finding it a bit difficult to adapt, I think.

Do you find it easy getting out the house? Going for walks with the pram? Do you just get up and get out in the car? Show up to baby classes feeling OK and like it was easy? Because I feel like getting myself ready, baby ready, bag ready and going out is quite overwhelming.

Am I overthinking this or is it actually hard?

Not doing great the minute

Tomorrow is my last (solo) day with my baby before they start nursery next week and then I am back to work full time shortly after. To say I am struggling would be an understatement. I cannot stop crying, and I've been crying non stop for the last few weeks. I'm not ready to be away from my baby, especially 5 long days a week. My baby isn't 100% at the minute due to a lingering cold and cutting 2/3 teeth. Last settle session today before starting on Monday and I get a call to pick up early as my baby is so upset. I turn up, my baby takes one look at me and starts screaming and is so distraught, genuinely was so distressing seeing my baby like that. I just broke down on the nursery doorstep, the staff had to console me. I got home and I sobbed the hardest I think I've ever sobbed.

This isn't my first rodeo going back to work, my eldest is nearly 5 and it was of course difficult going back to work but I am struggling so much this time. When I went back full time after my first, they were cared for by my mum 5 days a week so it was easier on the both of us. I know this nursery, my first went there for over 2 years but it is just so different my baby going to nursery compared to my 2 year old. Plus, this year has flown by and I can honestly say, I have loved it so much, I don't want this period of my life to end.

And then when I am back to work, my first, who started school in September, will be in wraparound care everyday. The GUILT I am feeling over both my babies having such long days, being cared for by other people is more than I can cope with.

And to top it off, my flexible working request was rejected and I am now in the appeal process so I am going back with that added stress of going through the appeal, working alongside my manager who rejected my request and definitely won't be happy I'm appealing, whilst doing my original work pattern which is an added strain going back.

I am so run down and exhausted from all the crying and the continuous level of stress and anxiety running through my body. I am struggling to eat as I feel sick to my stomach, I can't sleep as my mind is in overtime all the time and my house is a mess as I don't want to spend a single moment these last weeks on anything that isn't spending time with my baby.

Long old post and very impressed if anyone is still here but I really needed to get that off of my chest 😭
