Hey!
I’m 5 days postpartum c section and naturally my scar is agony. I had my midwife visit today and I checked her opinion on the Freda silicone patches, she checked my healing and said she is happy for me to use them. I have put one on and immediately the difference is ridiculous, it’s enabling me to move around a lot easier and just making the pain a hell of a lot more bearable.
I was hesitant to try them as I know everyone’s profession opinion differs, but I 100% recommend. It didn’t hurt putting on either, I just had to get my boyfriend to do it as it still hurts to stretch too much.
Just posting in case anyone looks for experiences with the patches, I had a look on here before using them so hopefully this helps someone else :)

I knew they had to be put on fully healed scars, at least that’s what came up from my research and that’s what I did. If the midwife was happy then I’m sure it’s fine but the wound needs to be kept dry as far as I know until fully healed so with those I wouldn’t know how. It’s crazy how conflicting some information is. 🤷🏻♀️
I wish there was more clear information on post c-section and recovery.
Anyway I found them really helpful to protect the area when it was still sensitive and to prevent keloid scarring. I highly recommend them too.

You should ideally wait until your scar is healed/don't have any scabs. The idea of the silicon patch is to keep your scar hydrated and slightly compressed to reduce your scar from becoming raised/ dried out. It does, as you've found out, really help with support due to the compression and also stops it feeling so itchy and protects it from catching on your clothing etc.
Also silicon patches have adhesives on them (some stronger than others) to help them stick, which is also why avoiding wearing it until after your scabs have gone is better.
There's things such as 'mummy MOT' and scar massage specialists where you could speak to someone more about C-section recovery. That's what I did and I still see my lady at 9months post partum. She's taught me a lot about recovery and my scar, and my overhang etc is way better now.
It was tough after my section as I knew absolutely nothing and now I mention to mums to google their nearest mummy MOT or scar massage specialist - it's worth even just for the 1 visit.
Sorry to be graphic but I’m 7 weeks PP and for the first time I’ve looked down there with a mirror and I’m in shock!
It looks so different and I can practically see the inside of my vagina, has anyone has a similar experience?
Me and my partner are going to have sex tomorrow for the first time and now I’m worried.

I would love for my family to meet baby and they will only get a chance to meet baby if baby comes before half term so they can do the 6 hours drive down to us and book an air b&b. We got luckily with my first that she was born a week before Christmas so they got to meet her during the Christmas holidays!
Would appreciate some tips and advices!

My little girl who has just started reception has been invited to her friends birthday party ( this is her best friend ) I got the invitation on Tuesday and have already confirmed to the mum she will be going . I’ve just received another invitation from another little girl from her class and her party is on the same day at the same time so she won’t be able to attend but I don’t know what to say to the other mum as I don’t want to upset them or it to come across as rude .
How would you respond ?

Hey guys I’m 40+1 and my waters broke at 3:15 this morning and was given two options.
Option one: was to go home and wait 24 hours and see if my contractions become regular.
Option two: stay at the hospital and go on the drip.
I chose to go home as I am really hoping for a water birth which I know isn’t possible if I’m on the drip. How did everyone get their contractions to start becoming regular and how long did it take. I’ve tried the ball, walks, stair walking as well as just resting and letting my body do its thing. Currently in a warm bath as I have heard that helps.
Please any tips and advice is welcome.

Reading everyones posts and seeing stages, I'm wondering if I have one of the oldest June babies? June 1st at 12.20 am. Just a bit of fun and curiosity

Hey! I’m 18 weeks and 3 days pregnant, I’ve been feeling a pressure like pain, especially when I lay on my side and just makes me worried. Does anyone else have this? I have my 20 week scan on the 28th of this month so not long to make sure everything is okay.
