My boy is 3 weeks old and is staying in his nan’s tonight, I’ve not been able to sleep from feeling guilty that he’s not with me! Everyone keeps saying to accept help and we said yes to him staying as we’ve had 3 sleepless nights now and it was getting a bit too much. I need to know if it’s bad or not that we said yes to him staying, I feel awful!
(Just to note he’s literally a 5 min drive away but I just feel so bad)

I wouldn’t have been able to sleep either

I would go get him could the nan jusy stay there and pick him up every time he needs it

Please don’t feel awful. You’ve had three sleepless nights and saying yes to help is actually a really healthy thing to do. Your baby is safe, loved, and only 5 minutes away. Getting some rest will help you be the best version of yourself for him.

I let my bb stay at my moms 1 time at 4 mo and after that I feel she was traumatized and I came and got her at 6 am she wouldn’t sleep with out me

Don’t feel awful! You deserve a break and a night off. Just remember little man is safe and sound and probably having the time of his life, and hes only 5 minutes away.
Get some sleep and rest up!

Just have her stay at your house and play night nurse for the evening. That way if your baby needs you, you’re there.

My girl loves her Mimi has been having sleepovers since she was 4 months old and I moved back in to now and she’s 4 and she leaves my house for a weekend at a time with her house! Nothing wrong with that ESPECIALLY if you guys need the time cause if yall are crazy and sleep deprived the he can and will feed off you’re energy

This would feel too much of a jump for me too soon and my baby is 9 weeks but everyone is different.
Right now if we have a bad night we come up with a plan the following night to split it. My husband gets up for work at 5am so that generally looks like me going to be around 6/7pm and us changing over around 11/12 so we’re both getting a few solid hours which seems to make all the difference. If I was happy with my mum helping I’d feel a lot more confident with her staying here and having that split with her ☺️

I looked into therapy it has helped try it 🩷 don’t let them force medicine on you bc a really good therapist will get to the bottom of where your mom guilt is coming from you will feel so much better 🩷🩷

This is a totally normal feeling. Help doesn’t mean leaving them with someone overnight. At 3 weeks help is someone taking them for a walk in the day so you can have a shower and a nap. Or them coming to stay with you and getting up in the night with them. I would’ve felt the same as you!
Mine are 5 & 16m and have still never slept out at anyone else’s house!

3 weeks is very young to be sending them away for the night. I’d have had nan stay at my house to do the night wake ups - especially as now you’ve been awake feeling guilty about it you’ve not had any sleep anyway so was kind of a pointless exercise as you’ve just had another sleepless night.

There’s nothing wrong with this, you need to rest so you can look after him properly if you think about it what you have done is what’s best for everyone so you can recuperate

Don’t feel bad, look after you or you can’t look after your baby. If I had been offered that chance I would have absolutely taken it up!
What age/ weeks is it okay to take a newborn out of the house?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and my baby will be born 2 weeks before Christmas. It’s my family in Milton Keynes turn to host Christmas this year and I live in Surrey. I badly want to attend the Christmas party as I haven’t had a proper Christmas in about 5 years.
I don’t want to risk my baby being around that many people. I also would have to take a train there as I don’t drive and I don’t know how fussy the baby will be. I know I don’t have to go but I was just wandering if anyone has any tips or advice cause I would love to have a lovely Christmas with my new born rather than be alone at home with my husband😭

For those who have seen and commented on my last post about my husband and the lack of taking care of our son me and him had a very long talk about it and essentially I told him if he does it start helping or doing better I am taking our son and leaving and apparently that got through to him very clearly and I gave him one last chance I had to go to an appointment that was about an hour and a half to two hours long the place was like right down the road from my house so I walked there and walked back because I like walking but I gave that time to my husband to see if he has the chance of actually stepping up or not and he did extremely well our son was in a clean diaper and was happy and fed and later on that night I went back and watched our baby monitor and he was actually doing what I asked him to do so clearly I got through to him but Idk if I can day I fully trust him yet

Anyone who weaned their baby at 5 months, did you consult the health visitor first? My baby can’t take anymore milk during feeds without projectile vomiting and so we introduced banana puree and a bit of baby porridge and he’s so much happier and not vomiting so much obvs this is so much better for us as he would normally be wanting more milk but he can’t handle it and ends up projectile vomiting. I know they will try and convince me to wait so don’t really want to consult them but just wondering if anyone has started weaning and not told them? or had any issues with not telling them?
Thankssss

My son is two years old, and at the moment his behaviour is the worst it’s ever been. You give him into trouble and all he does is laugh at me, my moods are at an all time low right now and have been for a few weeks now (not because of my son). I feel myself getting so irritable with him and once he’s gone to bed I genuinely just sit and cry due to how guilty I feel over it. I genuinely feel like I’m such a shit mum right now and I don’t know how to dig myself out of this hole. My husband came home tonight and had I to take myself into my room and just cry

We’ve gone to the children’s ER and urgent care , no answers. For most of the week my year-old has been having high fevers and really fussy and nonstop crying had on off diarrhea and doesn’t want to eat at all, and barely drinks much. She keeps pointing to her mouth, but can’t communicate what’s wrong to her teeth. Look OK from this photo?
