So my daughter is 13 weeks old and has had bottles since birth. This was initially just one per day but on the advice of the HV (due to poor latch) we upped this to 3 or 4 bottles a day with the rest of the feeds from the boob. This was about 6 weeks ago and it worked well at first but over the last couple of weeks she’s been getting increasingly fussy when I try and feed her. She’ll usually be ok for about 5 mins on one side but then start coming on and off and refuse to latch on the other side. We’ve also tried giving her breast milk in a bottle but she also doesn’t want that (she’s fine with formala) - almost like she doesn’t like to taste of breast milk any more? Has anyone experienced the same and did you find a solution? Really don’t want my BF journey to completely come to and end!

Are the bottles pace fed?

This sounds really normal for this age ❤️ it might not be that she dislikes breast milk, but that she’s gotten used to the faster flow from bottles.
The on/off feeding after a few minutes is super typical when they get frustrated with letdown. Paced feeding and slower teats can really help if you’re not already doing that.
Also there’s a common “3 month phase” where they get fussier at the breast.
You could try feeding when she’s sleepy, expressing a little first, and keeping feeds low distraction.
Definitely doesn’t sound like the end of your BF journey 💛
