Following x my girl is 17 months and I’m thinking about moving her to a floor bed x

My little girl has just turned 18 months and I'm due a baby boy any day. About 4-6 weeks ago, we transitioned to a floor bed for my little one. It's taken a bit of getting used to and some nights we still have to work to get her to stay in the bed but ultimately, it hasn't changed our routine or schedule too much. It makes mornings nicer because she'll get out of bed and play for a little while, before needing our attention

Put my little one in a single floor bed a week after her first birthday and she’s slept so much better since! Now when she wakes up she goes to her toy box and plays rather than bashing her head on the side of the cot. Also means the cot is now free for when my second baby arrives (currently 36 weeks)

I put my son in a montessori floor bed at 15 months. He loves it

I ordered one from wowcher as we weren't sure if she would get on with it. I think it was £50 and then I ordered a mattress from argos.

My daughter has been sleeping on a floor bed (a double mattress on the floor) since she was 7 months old. She never used a cot, as we transitioned her straight from the crib. She really enjoys having the extra space and sleeps much better, and it also means I can lie with her if needed. It’s been working really well for us.

I am it mine in a normal single bed at 18months and was fine

I put my now 4 year old into an adults single bed at 18 months old. Its low to the ground and has a safety bar on it.

We went straight from next to me to a Single Floor bed at around 10mo.
Was great for her as she moves around so much she would wake herself/me up rolling round. She's now 2 and still occasionally ends up asleep on the floor, so a comfy foam playmat/rug is a good idea 😂
I can also fall asleep with her/cosleep on trickier nights, though the mattress is super uncomfortable as it is extra firm.
Be aware of where the door is, how it opens, and and gaps where little fingers can get caught. We swapped to a concertina sliding door so we could have a baby gate inside her room as I worried we'd open the door onto her, get fingers would get stuck, or we wouldn't be able to open the door if she was asleep on the floor the other side 😂
Another thing to be careful of is curtains/blind cords etc as they are a risk, we had to get cordless blinds to sit in the window recess.
