Blood test

Im really nervous. Ive just had a blood test because I could possibly be pregnant again. Im only 9 months pp. please don’t judge me lol. I have been having symptoms but Im unsure on whether they are PMS or early pregnancy. Think id be around 3 weeks. However it won’t show up on a urine test. Has anyone else had this and only found out later and later than 12DPO? Im nervous for the results on Monday. I do really want another baby and we haven’t really been trying to prevent it but I also know it’s too soon. I think Id actually be upset if it comes back negative and I don’t know if thats wrong to feel that way at 9 months pp. we would love to have them close in age just wasn’t thinking this soon because honestly thought Id struggle this time around. I don’t know I suppose Im just getting this off my chest lol.

I started having a suspicion I was pregnant a few weeks ago, took a pregnancy test and it was positive. My HCG levels were not increasing like normal though, and when I went in for an initial ultrasound they didn’t see a yolk in my gestational sac. They had me schedule another ultrasound though a week later because they figured I was just too early and ovulated late, and sure enough a week later there was a tiny fetal pole and heartbeat! I am 7 months postpartum, so I definitely shared your concerns about not being ready for a second baby so soon, and trying to figure out a toddler while having a newborn. I joined the 2 under 2 group though and a lot of people had assured me it’s going to be hard sometimes, but when is life not? And hopefully these two will grow up to be best friends. We have considered moving in with our parents though, or even just closer to family so we can have grandma help out. You got this momma!

Got pregnant with my second around the same time.
Won't have it any other way 😋
I feel it's a lot easier than people who hype that long age gap. 😁
Having them grow together and very close gives me a chance to catch my breath each day and it's easier to sort them as they are both needing similar things done at the same time.

You'll be fine, whichever way the result goes. Congratulations in advance though 🤗

Recent ultrasound shows PCO

I had an ultrasound on Tuesday and the results on my app say PCO on my left ovary.

I have normal periods that are regular my only symptom that I have been getting is brown egg white discharge once a month mid cycle which is why I went to see my GP.

I was googling last night and I’m scared that it will prevent me from getting pregnant again as we have been trying the last 3/4 months.

Can anyone share similar or positive outcomes? 😭🫶🏼

Positive PPROM stories

Been diagnosed with PPROM at 24+6 weeks. Completely out of my depth after having 3 straightforward pregnancies with no completions! I’ve been given steroids and am not having any contractions atm so I’m thinking they will let me go home soon with extra monitoring. Just looking for some positive stories and advice

Colourism

So I am Canadian-Jamaican and it’s such a spicy topic regarding skin colour. I have always considered myself black as both parents are from Jamaica. Externally, my dad would be considered “mixed” which stems from slavery. His family goes 2 generations back of mixed heritage. My mom is the descendant of Maroons that escaped to the mountains of Jamaica. When people ask what are you mixed with? I give them the spunky response with, “my mom and my dad.” Or when I tell them both parents are Jamaican they insist I give them more of a response.

Now that I have my daughter I already knew I had no control what DNA did in terms of skin colour. My fiancé is a dark skinned man from Antigua. When our daughter was born, she came out lighter than me. She is now 6months and basically is my twin except for when she frowns, that is all her father.

Now my mom has her “light skinned preference “ and has made comments on me dating a dark skinned man and she has also made comments about my daughter and her “good hair” and “nice skin.” Even my own dad has also chimed in on the skin colour of my daughter.

As a kid I struggled with identity and my blackness in schools that were predominantly East Asian. The very few black students in my school never wanted to be my friend because of how “light” I was.

I know times are different for some kids, but I wonder if any other moms out there struggle with colourism within your family or in the public?

7mo still spitting up?

I thought he’d outgrew it by now! It’s just as much or maybe more. Anyone on the same boat? Not sure if it’s concerning, I’ll see his ped on Friday
