Is it really that bad if we dont celebrate my lg 1st birthday party?
Me and my partner has been torn if we will have a party for our little girl's 1st birthday party? As, my family will not be here( living in other country) and his family is somewhat not in good terms. So basically its just some of my workmate and some of his friends. Also, i dont know how to arrange a birthday party at all plus i dont usually dont know how much money i have to spend?😔😔
Now, i feel so deflated. I need help badly. Thank you.

My LG is one in July. We have invited the in laws over to visit, we will have my step daughter and will invite her Mum over for when she finishes work. And will either just have a cake here and dinner or go out for dinner and maybe a soft play as my step daughter who is 5 would enjoy soft play.
No party just a small gathering and maybe go out somewhere for her doesnt need to be a big party celebrate and make special how ever you want to.

For my first we had a day out at the aquarium x

We’ve always just done a mini tea party for grand parents to come over to blow out the candles on the cake.
It largely depends on the temperament of your child but my son would have been so so overwhelmed by a big party with lots of people and they also end up costing a bomb x

We went to Chester overnight and did zoo and aquarium before i went back to work for his 1st bday, so we did it 1 month early and didnt invite any family. If people want to come and see him on his birthday we won't say no but were not doing food or drinks or anything 😊
I remember my nieces 1st, big garden party, lots of people, she cried most the time we expect because she was overwhelmed with all the attention and people 🙈

It’s definitely not compulsory to do a big party.
A lot of the time the baby is so overwhelmed and so tired and as parents you are tired trying to make sure everyone is ok that you don’t always enjoy it.
Something small at home with people that little one knows is lovely.
