My newborn is pretty good she feeds every 2 hours and isn’t fussy and will nap after through the day. At night she will get more fussy and hungry and I’ll give her extra food but I don’t want to over feed her. I’ll do diaper changes like normal too if she’s fussy after feeds. But to not overfeed her if she’s still fusssy I’ll give her a pacifier and that calms her down but idk if that’s bad to just give her a paci whenever if that is the wrong que? Should I be checking her temperature instead? I know pacifiers are okay but idk if she is thinking her pacifier is food and that she actually IS still hungry and I need to feed her more.

Ok what I did was I would check her temperature offer some more milk and try a pacifier it’s ok to give a pacifier babies eating habits are different during the night then during the day so just keep that in mind and as baby grows they will eat more my babies are 3 months old now and the were born at 33 weeks and they are eating 5 oz

is she breast or formula fed? my breastfed newborn is always on the boob and i have a slight oversupply but she isn’t being overfed bc she can control the flow so i can tell when she’s using me as a paci or when she’s actually feeding. she always wants to be on the boob whether she’s hungry or wants to comfort suck. i don’t see anything wrong with a paci if baby just wants comfort! i wish mine would take a paci lol

If a baby is truly still hungry they won't settle with a paci it'll make them more upset xx
