So I’m curious 🧐 anyone else use a nipple shield while breast feeding?
I do and personally really like it, baby has been a bit funky latching though. He is 6 weeks and 3 days, I heard it’s common during a growth spurt or cluster feedings. He is a messy eater, I have to put a bib or cloth down around him so milk doesn’t go everywhere.
I’m just wondering what others options are when using one!

I never had to use one, but my best friend did for the first few months until her son finally latched without it
I do understand the messy eater thing, though lol I always put a burp rag over his shoulder and held it in between the palm of my hand and his head and it draped over his chest so any milk that would fall would go right on the burp rag

I’ve been using them since birth but noticed the same thing around the 6 week mark but like magic that was also when I’ve been able to do some feeds without the shields as her mouth has grown so I usually start the feed with them and sometimes finish without them if she’s fussy and spitting the shield out
