This will be her second week at nursery, and she only goes 2 days a week, but my daughter screams and cries and tries to cling onto me every drop off, even though they'll send me a pic every time of her being fine within 10 mins of me leaving, and then she's fine for the rest of the day too. How long did this phase last for everyone else? She's never really been away from me so I was kind of expecting it lol

For my daughter who went 2 days a week from aged 2, it took 3.5 weeks to calm down. I always made drop off short and sweet, stayed positive and said I would be back later. She used to go in screaming and crying and then as soon as I was out of sight she would stop and play with her friends. I was also positive and happy at pick up, told her I loved her and missed her and asked about her day. I always told her what was coming the night before and always spoke about nursery positively to help get her excited.
Its hard but it does pass. X

No advice as I'm in the same boat im afraid but is she more clingy with you at home? My partner drops mine off and picks him up (as I'm working) and he is so clingy with him ever since, crying whenever he leaves the room. It might be because he was sneaking away. Hoping that improves too but the advice we were given is have the same drop off routine - quick kiss, goodbye and say you'll be back and eventually they will get confident that you will be back for them.
It feels so bad :(

It took my daughter 5 weeks to settle ā¤ļø

Iām in the same boat little boy goes in 2 days a week 8-1 and majorly kicks off heās been going since January and is still very unsettled

My little one has been going to nursery for 1 month now - we still have tears on drop off but within half hour she is eating breakfast and is her happy self and then has a great day at nursery. The dropping off is still tough, but I know that she will have a good day and that the crying doesnāt last too long (still gut wrenching leaving her though!) š

My 4 yea rold has been going. 5 days a week but only for 3 hours a day and the first few weeks was crying. Then she settled. Then they have half terms and it all starts again. Last term she was really bad but she comes out so happy .its hard but they do enjoy it.

My 3 year old son still cries at drop off (hes been there a year). But heās always been an emotional child. The nursery find it funny because they say as soon as the door closes he stops and goes to play š
