6 month regression

My 6.5 month old has slept through the night since about 4.5 months old, even when we transitioned her into her own room and was fine with naps. That's all changed now. She only naps 30 to 40 minutes max 3 times a day, can just about make it to half 6 for bed, wakes at 7pm, awake until 9pm, the wakes somewhere around 1 to 3 and refuses to go back down until I eventually cave and let her sleep on me.

Today, I she wouldn't even let me rock her for a nap, nor would she settle if I put her down in her cot so we did 2 contact naps (1.5hrs and just over 1hr each) - something we've not done since she was around 3 months (she stopped liking them).

My question is will embracing the contact sleeping have a negative impact on her sleeping in her cot or will it just help her through this difficult time (bottom teeth cutting 2 weeks ago, top teeth coming in, learning to crawl, etc.)?

Hi!! My daughter is 6 months old and is now coming out the other side of a regression!

In the day my daughter either naps on me or her dad, in the car, in the pram etc but she’s never napped in her cot during the day! Bar the regression, my daughter has slept wonderfully in the night in her cot (something I defo don’t take for granted!) - routine is key I think, so keep up with the contact naps if that’s what your LO loves - sleep is sleep regardless whether it’s on your or a cot! It hasn’t impacted my daughters night time sleep by her 99% of the time contact napping during the day and coming out of the other side she’s gone straight back to sleeping well in the night by herself xx

That's so good to hear! Wasn't sure if the right response was to just embrace what she needs right now (the contact naps in the day and toward the end of the night) or to try to keep her in her cot. But hearing it might not effect her cot sleeping after we come out the other side is comforting!

Bras after breastfeeding

Can anyone recommend some good bras now that I’ve finished breastfeeding and I’ve got 2 half empty sacks? 🤣
I’ve tried the brands Lounge, Boux Avenue (no underwire) and NEXT (underwire.)

They either slip underneath during the day or towards the middle 🥴💕

At a loss

I am 13 weeks pp and prior to having my baby my husband and I were having issues. But having a baby has heightened those issues to like 1000%. Since I have known him he wants to spend like almost 100% of his free time gaming or watching sports which cool not a big deal when there wasn’t another human to care for. Now we have our son and he still acts like this. Since my son has been born I have been unable to shower but like 2-3 times a week. And generally speaking haven’t been able to do anything for me which you know having a baby fine you aren’t the primary focus anymore.

But my issue is he complains he doesn’t get time for him and yet my ppd is getting bad. Like so bad I genuinely don’t want to spend time with people anymore and like my entire existence is stuck in this survival mode. I have tried expressing this to him and it doesn’t seem to click how bad I am. I started seeing a therapist around 5w pp because initially i was dealing with issues with identity and just feeling like a person. And even she has noticed a shift in the last few weeks. I didn’t even notice really notice how bad I had gotten until she asked me this last session how are you really….i just broke. I cried. Because I’m just not okay.
I’m not okay because everyone who was my friend ditched me or lives too far away, I’m not okay because talking to my husband doesn’t help, I’m not okay because somewhere along the lines I lost me. What is terrible is now I don’t even want to be around people. I don’t want to talk I don’t want to open up. I just want to be left alone. I guess I’m posting this because I need to know I’m not alone in this. Having a husband who is oblivious to what you are going through and having no one to talk to on a day to day basis.

My last attempt to get some
Normalcy was last weekend when we went to one of my friends kids birthday party. The whole time my husband was talking. With one of her friends husbands and didn’t allow me any time to catch up with my friend and the whole ride up there (30 mins) my baby cried and screamed while I drove. What was supposed to be time out of the house for me to catch up and chat a little with my friend ended up being torture because now I had to care for my baby the way I always do just out of the house and away from the comfort of my own home. And now I’m just done caring about trying because why care when this happens every time

Talking Stages?

My 2 year old says some words but I can’t get him to start full on talking yet. I’m reading, flash cards, pointing and saying anything that catches his attention but he hasn’t like grasped it yet. He understands a lot, can follow directions, fast learner in all other areas but idk what else to do the. Rely on gods timing. Starting to work with a speech therapist next month but was seeing if anyone had other tips for a first time mom.

Freezing hands at night!

Hello everyone,

What are we doing with our little one’s hands at night? Her nursery was at 18.5 degrees last night and she has a vest, a sleepsuit and her 2.5 tog sleeping bag but when she woke up this morning her little hands were freezing cold even tho her chest was warm!

I always feel extremely bad when I pick her up to cuddle in the morning and those little hands are freezing. I know some people are using the built in mittens of the sleepsuit but it doesn’t work for her because she self soothes during the night by sucking her hands so having them covered wouldn’t work for her!

Anyone else in this situation?

How many feeds?

How many feeds is baby having overnight?

Baby is nearly 7 weeks old. He tends to fall asleep downstairs on one of us around 8pm, then when we go up to bed around 10-11pm we give a bottle of formula.

He then sleeps until around 2-3am when he wakes for a nappy change and a breastfeed. He will then go back down until around 5am when we do another change and breastfeed. At this point he gets quite fussy in the next to me so I tend to bring him into bed with me to get more sleep until 7-8am

What are your nights looking like?
