I've just had my C-Section date confirmed for 36+2 weeks due to full previa major posterior. The consultant led multi disciplinary team I'm under have decided this is the best date as their most experienced consultant in full previa cases is available to do the op. Feeling anxious at having baby preterm, any experiences people can share of having their babies at 36 weeks? How did it go? Did they need neonatal care? How are they now? Ty ❤️

Had an emergency c section at 34 weeks. Honesty it was fine, much less stressful than my planned (2nd and 3rd) recovery was great. My baby needed to go NICU due to oxygen and feeding, she was in their 3 weeks. It’s tough but you’ve just got to get through it. My other 2 sections were at 37 weeks and none of them needed NICU, we got to go home the next day. Good luck x

37+2 for my second baby so a week later but he was healthy, over 7lb and needed no help whatsoever. I got ICP so they have to deliver before week 38 but my surgery has no complications for either of us. They floated 36+5 but there was a blood lab strike 🤦♀️ he did lose a bit of birth weight but that’s very normal for all babies but he fed fine and had no complications being “preterm”. He’s 16m now, an absolute tank of a boy, never been poorly, hit all his milestones xx

I am in exactly the same situation. Will have a c section in week 36 because of previa major. Will find out the exact date today!

My little one was born at 36+6 he only needed NICU as he developed an infection but he was also born 4lb 6oz so that made him more vulnerable
Originally due 13th October, my blood pressure decided it no longer wanted to play ball and forced us into an earlier induction and all different hoops to jump through, but Brodie Angus has arrived today 09/10/26 at 12.59pm, weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces ❤️ and he has stolen our hearts!

Hi everyone,
I’m 40+5 weeks pregnant with my first baby and looking for advice from anyone who’s been through something similar.
My waters started leaking around 9:30 pm yesterday (so around 3.5 hours ago from this post) and no further leaking, and the hospital has confirmed this with a positive swab test. I’ve also tested positive for Group B Strep (GBS) previously.
I’m not having any contractions or pain yet, and when the midwife examined me, my cervix was still closed and appeared dry.
The hospital is recommending induction because my waters have broken and I’m GBS-positive. I’m particularly worried about induction when my cervix is still closed, whether it will work, and the possibility of it eventually leading to a C-section.
I’d really prefer to go into labour naturally and have a vaginal birth if possible, but I also want to make sure my baby is safe.
Also, thinking to get discharged and wait for a day at home as long as it’s safe.
Has anyone experienced waters breaking before contractions started, particularly with GBS-positive results and a closed cervix?
Did you wait for natural labour or choose induction? How long did it take for your cervix to open, and did you manage to have a vaginal birth?
Would really appreciate hearing your experiences.
Thanks in advance.
