Help! I’d Breathing sounds terrible…

Baby boy has had a cold for a few days and seen out of hours doctor yesterday. Was told to just monitor his temperature and how he’s breathing but like told to look out for fast breathing and stomach sucking in under ribs. He has moments today when he’s choking on mucus and breaths faster but calms down again. But this breathing seems slow and sounds terrible. Can this be normal?

I feel so helpless because he’s only 7 weeks and there’s not much I can do for him!

You're not on your own with feeling helpless, my baby girl is recovering from bronchiolitis, she got it at just 3 weeks old and its been so hard listening to her coughing and being mucusy/choking.

I would just say if you're not sure whether something's right or not then its best to get little one checked out, call 111 and they'll help you out, even if it's just for your peace of mind as babies pick up on your emotions so if you're stressed or anxious over it he'll feel this.

Have you got a diffuser if so use snufflebabe vapour oil in it. I have mine on all the time when I am in as my LG is so mucusy since she has been born. Her chest is now starting to clear so fingers crossed xxx

Induction Pain

Im currently 40+3 with no signs of baby. My midwife wants to talk induction, does anyone have any advice on pain levels and effectiveness from the different types? The balloon method sounds very uncomfortable, but seem preferential to the pessary as you can go home after insertion?

C-Section Date

Hey!!

I am having an elected C-section for a few reasons but one being my anxiety.

I was initially told I would get a date around 39 weeks but I’ve just been told it could be 41 weeks instead.

It’s really shocked me as I think this runs a risk of her coming naturally as well as now adding 2 weeks to her due date (39 weeks now being 41).

Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to manage this kind of news and how their c-section date booking went?

Please note - I’m aware I could get a date and it be moved due to emergencies but I didn’t expect this huge change.

12 week scan - so clinical

Hello,

I’ve just had my 12 week scan. When we started baby was doing a head stand, so had to walk around for 30 minutes. When I came back, the baby was still in an unfavourable position, but could just about get measurements after doing an internal scan. I came out feeling a bit disheartened as she didn’t really say much during the scan, or after, to make me feel reassured everything was fine. I had to ask her after if everything was ok and she just said yes all fine. Am I just overthinking things or did anyone else find it just so “clinical” and one in one out kind of thing. It’s a shame because I’ve had some private scans and I was made to feel so comfortable and reassured there, but the NHS scan just made me come out with anxiety even though nothing was said to be wrong.

Navigating anxiety after baby measured small at 20wk scan

Hi everyone, i had my 20 week scan the other day. Everythings looking good but baby is on the smaller side particuarly head and tummy. I have been asked to go back in for a growth scan in 2 weeks time. I have been reassured by other people that some people do juat have smaller babies. My gp also advised i might need extra growth scans as some of my medications can impact growth but shouldnt be a big enough issue to come off the medications as that could have a bigger negative impact. Trying not to feel guilty as some people have smaller babies genetically anyway, i am jusr hoping to see reassuring progress at the next scan. Would appreciate tqlking to people who can relate

Delivery decisions

Hey everyone!

I’m currently weighing up a scheduled c section verses being induced (first time mum, I have gestational diabetes, baby is measuring big, high blood pressure, high bmi and various other factors for this)

I know there’s no real ‘better choice’ but I’d love to hear your stories to help me decide!

How was your experience, your recovery ect?

Thank you!
