Introducing older sibling to new baby

I’m wondering how I should introduce my little girl to her new sibling, she has a good understanding and I wonder if her coming to the hospital would help her to understand where we’ve been or would it be better to introduce her at home??

Also any ideas for a gift from the baby?!

Personally I think home is the better option because it’s a known environment but I might be thinking that way because my boy is a little more ‘challenging’ than a child his age being autistic

For me it would depend on the birth situation; if you are in and out in a day or 2 then I think home is better. However, if you are planning a c-section or end up having a longer stay, then hospital might be the better option because you’re away for a few nights and it could help her understand

For me plan A is to meet at home but plan B would be to meet in hospital if there for over two days

Same as - our plan is to meet at home (having a planned section) because we think my son will be too upset at having to leave again after visiting but if I have to stay 5 days like last time we might revisit

Unless I’m in and out which I doubt it then hospital x

I didn’t have the option to have my oldest meet my youngest in the hospital as I was literally booted out basically as soon as they could send me home it seemed. So that was my wish, so my oldest knew where the baby had been born etc but having them meet at home was so special as we were in our little bubble and it was comfortable and familiar 🥰 p.s the baby got his brother a paw patrol pup and vehicle he didn’t have yet lol x

I think if you're home quickly then home is the ideal option. However, my little girl would want to see me if it was more than a day so I'd bring her in to see me and baby so it didn't feel like I was absent.

First birthday

I posted about this earlier, but now I have another thought. If I were to do my babies first birthday party, it’s gonna be in December and it is cold and could snow, we have already gotten permission to do it at our church so there wasn’t be any activities for the other people kids. As a parent are we worried about that or no? We have an extremely small budget to use for decor and food, what did yall do for food?

Signs labour is near

36 weeks and have been so overly emotional for no reason! Can't stop crying over nothing. Is this a sign labour is coming sooner?

Did your newborn get prescribed antibiotics?

My 4 day old newborn may have an umbilical cord infection and will need antibiotics for 7 days. I’m feeling so bad as I’m sure this isn’t great for their small immune system- has anyone else had to do this and had any long term effects on their babies? Panicking a little

Natural birth or C Section

Hi ladies,

So for the past 8 months I have been told that there was no way on God’s green earth that I would have a natural birth:
Every scan/ obstetrician’s appointment was the same.
Constantly being told it is a miracle I conceived naturally due to the amount & sizes of uterine fibroids I have.
Most times the radiologist gives up counting and the last scan at 34 weeks I was told they counted 9 sizeable fibroids and they wouldn’t bother counting/measuring the rest as we had run out of time. I was told all 9 measured between 7- 10cm (size of a small melon).

Also my babies head was now facing downwards as would be expected in preparation for birth. However there was a large fibroid right underneath his head by the entrance of my cervix. (I have always been aware of this fibroid in my cervix) it was the main reason I was told that I wouldn’t be able to have a natural birth due to high risk of haemorrhaging.

With all this, I had made peace with the fact that I would be having a planned C section from day 1. Hospital bags are packed etc. I am currently 37+2.

Fast forward today, I went in for a final scan (having more scans than usual due to the high risk nature of other pregnancy).
Miraculously I was told the babies head has now gone past the cervix fibroid and there is actually enough distance between the fibroid and my baby (up to 4cm) and so if I wanted I could have a natural birth. Without saying too much, it felt like the registrar was nudging me towards a natural vaginal birth now that I have the option.

This has thrown me completely and I genuinely don’t know what decision to take.
I have been told I need to make a decision by next week, when the CS scheduling team call me.

Vaginal birth obviously means that I get left alone to go into natural labour at full term etc, but a C section would be at 39 weeks. Less than 2 weeks away.

Please help a girl out.
What would you do if it were you?
Any advice welcome.
