Hey mommas so I have my anatomy scan next Tuesday and it’s been almost 8 years since I last went through pregnancy at all… so my questions are what do they fully check and how long does the anatomy scan usually take?
If I remember correctly when I was pregnant with my daughter it took maybe 30 mins max (I could be wrong though as this is only my second pregnancy)
*here’s my little bean from when I had some spotting at my 3 hr glucose test at 12 weeks*

Mine was about almost and hour it felt like but that’s because my daughter kept moving around and flipping

It’s about 30 mins . They check to make sure of 2 arms / legs etc . I had mine at 16 weeks but they couldn’t get a good read on her heart so I go back this week for an echo & I’ll be 20 weeks : they also confirmed she was a girl , my nipt test said girl so I was happy it was accurate.

Mine is in three weeks and is scheduled for an hour. Can't say much more than that bc it's my first pregnancy that I haven't lost before this far along... But I know they measure the baby in like every way possible and check for deformities/genetic conditions

I had mine today! It’s 30 min to an hour. They check the brain, the 4 chambers of the heart and whether there are any holes, whether they have a cleft lip, kidneys, spine, arms, legs, fingers, toes, eyes, nose bridge and genitals. They also look at where the placenta is and how your cervix is doing! We asked about the lungs and they said it’s not fully developed yet at 19 weeks but as long as the thorax is the right shape and the heart looks right, they usually develop fine. Hope this was helpful!

aw i also have my anatomy scan next tuesday i hope it goes well mama 💕

The amount of time the scan takes depends a lot on baby and if they’re moving enough/too much. With my first I had to go back three separate times for my anatomy scan because they couldn’t get pictures of her spine, umbilical cord insertion, or nose and mouth. They gave up after the third one and said we didn’t need to come back again. Everything ended up being just fine!
these november baby’s ain’t playing i’ve been in labor since this afternoon she’ll be here soon !

Hello
I’m 36+2 and I’m officially over the midwife care I have received, I’ve been dismissed multiple times on different subjects by multiple midwife’s in my community midwife team , I’ve not seen one consistently it’s been a group of 4 of them , I get told “ we will talk about that at the next appointment “ only to have somone else and it not be discussed & for my last 2 appointments I’ve been sent to maternity assessment .
I also asked not to see one of the midwives again and I was told it’s not possible and can’t garuntee it .
It’s causing me more stress now than anything is anyone else in the same boat ? Can I refuse maternity care going forward ?
I’m happy to go to maternity assessment if needed but I can’t with the community midwives anymore .

Having my second baby and this time around I have to have a C section due to complications in my last pregnancy.
Could you give me your best tips and advice. I have no idea how to prepare or what to bring or use post healing!
Super nervous about it.
Thank you 🩷

People say the sun starts to come out at 3 months postpartum and slowly becomes enjoyable at 4-5 months, in this true, i have been reading mixed things, currently at 6 weeks postpartum and just surviving on hope things Will be better!!

My sister has her hen do abroad, 6 weeks after my baby is due. I’m so torn as I know with my first I struggled leaving her for a minute when she was that small. I obviously don’t want to miss my sisters hen do as I’m maid of honour & so excited for her!
My fiance has said he is happy for me to go and he will look after our toddler and the newborn. (I’d have to pump and leave milk) although we might try to combi feed like we did for our first.
Would love to be there for both occasions. Is it so bad just for 3 nights?

My little one is turning one soon, and I’d love to hear how other mums marked the day. Did you do a big party, a day out, or something simple at home?
