My daughter (20 months) usually goes to bed by 7, without much fuss, just a cuddle and down in her cot and she will settle herself. The last week or so, my god, she has been absolutely horrendous. Screaming, fighting, kicking off at bedtime. Just will not go to sleep. Last night she didn’t fall asleep until 20 to 9 and that was after nearly 2 hours of screaming and fighting me. It’s currently 20 to 8 and she is still not asleep again and I’m losing the will to live. Last night after the 2 hours fight, she then woke up at 11pm and took an hour and a half to settle again so I didn’t end up going back to bed until gone 12.30, and I usually go to bed at 9.30 cause I’m so tired all the time.
I’m also 13 weeks pregnant so I’m absolutely exhausted, my partner works shifts and has been on nights the last 4 days so I’ve been on my own, plus I work full time.
There’s not much point to this post other than just to rant and say how sick I am of this, I feel like I’m in the newborn trenches again absolutely dreading bedtime everyday.

Nothing to say other than we are stuck in the same cycle of hell. Our boy used to sleep 11hrs straight and now it’s a 60min battle to get him down and waking every 2hrs. I’m 30 weeks pregnant too 😩

What time do you wake and how long/when does she nap? It could be as simple as tweaking these. Or it could need the patience of a saint whilst the phase passes....

SAME. She was going down at 8pm easily every night and sleeping through but the past two nights it’s been impossible to get her down. So much crying. We were at centerparcs last week and she started at her brother’s nursery yesterday so I was thinking it was that but actually now that you mention it, definitely a regression considering the age! Keep consistent and they’ll be back to ‘normal’ soon 🙏

She is NOT fighting YOU!
What about her molars?
My LG (2.5) has always been a great sleeper. She still naps during the day, usually for anywhere between 1.5–3 hours, but lately she’s been fighting her naps and they’re getting later and later. But when shes gone, shes sparko!
We’ve had a few days recently where she hasn’t napped at all, and if she’s kept busy, she gets delirious by the end of the day before sleeping from 7pm–6am.
However, if we’re having a quieter day at home or I can’t get out, she might finally nap from 1–3pm. I try not to let her nap that late because it pushes bedtime back to around 10pm, but I also don’t want to keep her awake when she’s clearly exhausted, whinging and in need of sleep.
Does anyone have any tips for gently waking a toddler from a nap so they don’t sleep for so long? Or is it time to drop naps altogether? Alternatively, how can I get her back into the routine of napping from 12–2pm like she used to?
I know she obviously still needs the sleep, but our days are now starting at 5am, and I’m struggling to work out what’s best for her. I'm also aware the clocks go back soon which will fuck me even more. Shes up from 5/6am. She has so much energy and we play from the moment she opens her eyes till bedtime.
For context, I also have a 6-month-old who sleeps amazingly from 8pm–7am. This then means I sort my toddler out and have to wait upstairs until my baby wakes up as transporting her downstairs will wake her unnaturally.

She’s too pushy and I’ve said no endless times. It’ll be very stressful for him. I don’t pump because I don’t like it and my baby doesn’t like bottles. I’m currently trying to break nurse-sleep association. It doesn’t make any sense to attempt a sleepover because it’ll be just stressful for baby and I. I just can’t be asked to keep saying NO. It’s almost harassment. I said it’ll eventually happen once I’m back to work, not while I’m in mat leave as I don’t want to be away from my son yet. How can I approach this in a friendly way? She’s just too much sometimes and I’ve been very friendly and open about the idea, but not about the timing.

Moms that travel; I’m taking my 1 y/o (21months ) on her first trip tomorrow . I’m dreading taking her car seat . What do you normally do if you don’t travel w/ your car seat ? Can you request a driver with one on ride share apps ?

What’s everyone getting for their newborn to sleep in, I’m torn whether to get a love to dream swaddle.. are they good?

1) how much sleep are you averaging at the moment? (I’m 3 weeks PP currently and baby is feeding every 3 hours, so getting 3 hours max of uninterrupted sleep)
2) are your babies really noisy and wriggly after night feeds but absolutely fine in the day?! If so, any tips please 🙏
3) following on from above really, how long does each feed take? Mine is up from about 1.5 hours from each feed so it’s sooo exhausting as she just won’t settled afterwards and is really wriggly/nosiy
Just wondering if I’m doing something wrong as I’m so tired and if the feeds were a bit quicker at night/could get her back down quicker it’d be so much better then I could actually sleep!
Thanks so much 🥰
