For a baby who’s currently 6 months old and will only feed directly from me will be starting childminders when he’s 11 months old
Were a month into solids he’s still more about purées and doesn’t seem to be taking to BLW with bigger pieces of food yet which I know will come
We’ve tried open cup, cup with handles, cup with straw and several different bottles and teats he would take a bottle around 6 weeks but hasn’t since then
When I go back to work and he starts the childminders and I’m back at work I’m worried about how he will get his milk feeds I would prefer him to predominantly have breast milk rather than moving to cows milk at a year old
Just wondering if anyone has any hints and tips and how long do I let him be breastfeeding from me before I really need to start getting him to take from a cup etc will it possibly come naturally as he gets older or do I need to offer cup everyday with milk? He can use a cup but will only have water
My main issue is if I pump to offer milk to him another way other than direct from me and he doesn’t take it he gets frustrated at the breast later feeding from me as the letdown is slower and wakes more through the night to feed
FTM here any help/ tops appreciated xx

I'm in the same situation with my 8 month old so also would love some tips! Mine will be going at 13 months. He drinks from a straw cup but I haven't tried giving expressed milk yet

At 6 months, I honestly wouldnt worry too much about it. Your baby will change so much between now and your return to work. Drinking milk from a cup may come naturally for him, or he might refuse milk whilst there. At 11 months, he would be find having a feed in the morning and waiting until your return in the evening. That's what my little boy does. And if it is a concern for you, you could pump some and have them mix it into his food

My 15 month old has only just started drinking out of a cup and she prefers water over the milk in it
She seems to just eat more snacks and food when I’m at work and makes up for it when I get home from the breast
I went back to work just after she turned 12 months old and she adapted quite well considering she won’t have milk in the days when im working but when I’m home she’s feeds a lot in the day still
I wouldn’t stress about it too much baby’s adapted better than you think
